Christine! 😍 I was really scared watching this movie, but I was maybe 10 years old 🙂

I was going to mention that I had read that they destroyed a few copies of this supposedly rare car during the filming, but I checked it thoroughly and it wasn't exactly like that 🙂

Quote

Although the car in the film is identified as a 1958 Plymouth Fury – and in 1983 radio ads promoting the film, voiceover artists announced, "she's a '57 Fury" – two other Plymouth models, the Belvedere and the Savoy, were also used to portray the malevolent automobile onscreen. John Carpenter placed ads throughout Southern California searching for models of the car, and was able to purchase twenty-four of them in various states of disrepair, which were used to build a total of seventeen copies of the film car. All cars were two door hardtops.

Total production for the 1958 Plymouth Fury was only 5,303, and they were difficult to find and expensive to buy at the time. In addition, the real-life Furys only came in one color, "Sandstone White" with a "Buckskin Beige" interior, seen on the other Furys on the assembly line during the initial scenes of the movie, though the car in King's novel was ordered with a red-and-white custom paint job. The original Furies had anodized gold trim on the body and Fury script on the rear fender. In order to bypass the problem of obtaining the rare trim, the cars featured the more common Belvedere "Dartline" trim. Several vehicles were destroyed during filming, but most of the cars were Savoy and Belvedere models dressed to look like the Fury. At least one '57 Savoy was used, its front end modified to look like a '58.

Well then I'll wait, maybe even I will try to make some nice screenshots later ^^

Ouch, 😶 that's a beauty hard to find on a decent polygon rate! But I'll see what I can do! Anyways... I have a 550 Spyder (Also James Dean's car 😁) rotting in the backyard (benchwork)

Happy to give a hand and It would also could help me to understand the H5 object workflow, I usually port them as addon toys

Damn lady! 🤯 I see you've done your homework! 😊 I like that!

Indeed that's right, most of the vehicles used for the film were '57 to '58 Belvedere and Savoy two door hardtops (which also enraged collectors 🤣 ) all of them disguised as Furys and all painted in red

Now, I think the controversy here is in the color of the original Fury as most of the media mentions buckskin beige with annodized gold trim on the sides which is also part of the color schemes of the Dart-Coronet line, it's the first time I read about "sandstone white", but anyways the important thing is the Fury only was sold in white during three of its production years (1956, 1957 and 1958) and finally in 1959 other paint schemes were included

It must have been the Plymouth version of the Henry Ford syndrome... "Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants, so long as it is Buckskin Beige"

Side note Lady with the glasses, I would love to see your screenshots with Mrs C. She wants your soul! 😈

Spoiler

She needs just a few miles and... one more soul! 🔪

Thanks, i know right hard to find car.

Its my favorite car, but also very dangerous car like christene 🙂

H5 workflow is kinda the same as making a toy. Only convert to a object with triangulation selected. than convert the object with H5m convertor.

You can use the cullmodes to get the windows working. You will need to make the car double textured to get the windows working correctly.

Hit me up if you want to try and run in to trouble

It was really the first time I had discussed briefly some automotive trivia and even a historical automotive trivia at that, and was genuinely interested ^^ Something tells me you're one of those guys who can recall such small details from memory without consulting any source material 😄

Also, I love this scene 🥰 It's better with music for sure. So deeply erotic ☺️ You know, like a girl who gets naked in front of her man for the first time.... and I thought about it before reading these damn YouTube comments, it occurred to me for the first time before YT even existed 😛

Well that's an interesting way of seeing it! The whole relation between Arnie and Christine is passionate, erotic, obsessive and... and... well, is a lady in red... nothing left to say 🤭

Ok - that is a impressive list. But Ima keep it 100 with you. Of all the cars, the one that interest me the most is that 1962 Lincoln Continental. That car is just sexy AF.

Really? 🤔 I swear I thought your heart would beat more towards the '63 Buick Riviera! But yeah, the Continental is definitely a sexy cruiser 🙃

The buick riviera is a nice looking car. But the Continental is a show stopper. The back suicide doors, the white walls, and its chassis design is great. Personally I would love getting one, but 1 in ok condition will set me back 20-30 grand. Those that are fixed cost around 60-100 grand.

I see, 😶 I can imagine how much the value of this transatlantic cruise have skyrocketed with the years! 🤔 Wonder if the 20 to 30 grands ok condition means acceptable for the road or years of restoration... a cheap alternative would be a Chrysler 300 H or an ElDorado, but none of those didn't came with suicide doors 😕
