Addon Request/Download Section Request

Good morning

I've seen many request about addons, not only on this site, many people download textures, but they can't use them because of lack of the addons. I can see that 'management' of Klub Exile is trying to sort content of download section and I like it, but for me there should be at least one more section added - addons. When I'm looking for some new content, I can see that many people put some sort of stuff, and then put link to some content on this site to addon they need, some of them doesn't do that. Sometimes it's possible to find required addon, but you need to count of your luck, someone wants to link up something and you may find addon you need in that hyper-link game. For me, in Downloads section it should be another section called addons, where it will be possible to find collection of all addons (7.5 and VX)  for content, with photo to identify, to recognize if it is something we need or if we need to look for something else. People would go to that section first, instead of adding more and more request for every single addon. What to you think ?

Hey there.  Thanks for the feedback. 

Just want to make sure you are clear on things up front.  Just in case you missed the multitude of links and information about it.  We do not support Version 7.5. I suggest to gaze a little to the left to get more information about why and what that means, but I felt I should make that clear up front.

Now.....

Most request that people ask for are things that are not uploaded directly yo the site.  The ones who do ask for items already uploaded, they simply need to learn how to use search or take the time to browse the categories to see if they can find it.  In addition screenshots and providing details about the content are required to submit an addon.  Unfortunately some people simply do not write good descriptions or provide good screens of what the item is. Most of this is sheer laziness, and unfortunately having a separate addon section is not going to cure that specific problem.

That said...

While most people will make sure to provide a link to an add-on for any said texture, this is not always the case.  From our perspective there is not a need for a separate addon section because we use a required tagging system for which uploaders are required to specify if their item is an addon, texture, or both.  As shown below you see different tags based on what the item is

 

Yes in some cases folks only are uploading retextures of an addon.  So if you do not want to include those while you are searching you can simply filter by tags as shown below to only show you addons or textures.

 

Finally if you have a texture and you simply cannot find the addon I suggest you browse some of the legacy content archives which will usually have something that is not posted.  For the most part they are organized in a way to help you find what you are looking for.
