Question about Textures and if it based upon an addon

Don't post the addon but just the textures. It will only add confusion. Most of the repost of addons have been incomplete as the UV textures are missing or base textures

Sorry, did you just say: "Don't post the thing you need for the textures to work"?

Actually, he is right. With the fall of the Garden, it is now possible to bundle up the addons with the textures. It's easier and doesn't clutter Klub Exile with unnecessary extra files.

Before, it was because the original creators were represented on the Garden, whether active or not, and it was courtesy and respect for the texture mod to create a link to the add-on with a 'requires this add-on' tagline. Now that the majority of the original creators are not represented (?) it makes sense to bundle the addons in with the texture files.

You know, I kinda missed watching you always answering people on the old modsgarden. 🙂

I do not know if this question is suitable here, but you may know the answer to it. The morphology or at least the appearance of finger/fingernails/toes/toenails is based on addons(eg. bodymods??) or on textures(activemods). I have seen some pictures with proper high quality feet and hands morphology. Does this correspond to a bodymod or texture?

@Skatogennis

The body mods or head mods > they change shape of the mesh

Textures > they only change the visual look of surfaces of mesh

For default body - fingernails are a separate mesh and have their own texture. Toenails for example do not have their own mesh ( at least not for default body ) so theyre made as separate mesh addon. Fingers and toes are already part of the body mesh and not separate. So, in some cases, like for default toenails, its only the texture affecting the look. But it can be made into true mesh with addons.

So, it depends - but the new toenails in such case arent exactly a body mod, because theyre not part of the body directly. Theyre more like additional "clothes" on the model with their own specific categories.

The quoted post vanished for a reason. Of corse Smoke referred to addons already posted by someone else on KE. If I had to repost an addon, I'd first make sure that is missing with a site search.

About textures bundled with addons, I disagree, unless the textures come from the maker of the addon (base textures).

I understand the convenience, but there are also disadvantages.

I could have those textures already, and sifting through duplicate stuff is annoying. Most people are too lazy to do it (which is partly the reason why their hd is about to explode). Textures should be posted where they belong, in Textures.

And than there is the question of representation. Just because someone is not represented here, we can't just do as we please with their productions, as I see it.

It's a matter of reciprocal respect, we should set the example, and hope that people outside KE will do the same about the original content posted here.

As long as credits are given, I see no problem posting material from external sources, and if the author requests the removal (it happened already) the content will be removed, as it should be,

P.S.

Just to be perfecly clear (I'm just expressing my opinion, nothing else). Imagine the following scenario:

I post an addon with a bunch of bundled textures, without specifying the source. This is a problem already for there's no way of knowing what textures are included (chance of duplicates, etc.). Now, someone claims that the textures are his/her creation and wants them removed. This will force the uploader to repost an updated version of the files. At the very least the textures should be added as a separate bundle, and probably the texture section would be best for that (except for the base textures released from the addon creator).

hi just want to ask does anyone knows how to convert some of v7.5 textures like R9**** (socks and gloves) into vx? thanks in advance

No 'conversion' needed. The textures in R9*** addons (and any existing Activemod textures) will work just as they are as Activemod textures in VX - as long as the Addon itself is Activemod enabled.

To create a new AM texture you just need to copy the texture file(s) in the addon folder to a folder created in Activemod.

If they don't show up in the Customiser, then the addon probably needs Activemod enabling, which can be fairly easily done by adding the required script file to the addon.

If you have problems with anything in particular not showing, make a post (or comment on this one), and I'm sure it will get looked at for you

Ah, right - There have also been a few name and location changes.  As far as F_zstockings go, they now all need to be labelled F_zstockings01 and placed in separate Activemod folders.

Default stockings are now lablelled F_Stockings and F_StockingsFeet, and again placed in separate Activemod folders. There is now no limit to the number you can have in-game.

If you think something needs an Activemod script to enable it, let me know what it is and I'll have a look - from there, hopefully you'll be able to see yourself what needs doing

UPDATE:  I've attached a .txt file that covers other renamed items:

Renamed TK17 VX textures.zip

Hope this is of some help.

UPDATE 2:  I've just remembered that zstockings also need an Addon to be useable in VX.  I've just posted that here:

F_zstockings enabler (unknown creator) - Bikini/Lingerie - Klub Exile

There shouldn't be any problem with R9Glove001.  If you're not seeing Activemod textures for it, remove your existing version and try the version available here:

Hi. This looks like R9Blouse041 Let's Go Top. If so, I have a few re-texture which are other people's work.

If those are your pics, it looks like you use Hook. I don't so there wouldn't be any Hook files included, but I could post what I have.

There are quite a number of re-textures for this top - other users may have more complete collections, with Hook files.

The best place to post for texture requests would be here:  Texture Request - Klub Exile   (for maximum attention )  Now you have the name, perhaps ask there first.
