TKX Utilities Settings

So I had a version of the TK Utilities program back on the previous version of K17, and now that I've got the new one, the new VX version keeps wanting to look in the old folder for mods etc. (I haven't deleted the old files yet because I want to slowly go through them and pick out things that I want to keep (and are compatible). Does anyone know where this program stores its settings? I know vanilla JSGME usually has an ini file in the same folder as the executable, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Can't. If I try to alt-tab or minimize the game while it's running, I just get stuck with a black screen until I can eventually force-close it with task manager, which takes a few minutes. I'm sure there must be a file somewhere that tells it where to look for mods, I just haven't a clue where or what it'd be called.

After using TKX Utils it puts a couple of hidden folders in Addons:

!BACKUP\
!INSTLOGS\

Changes made to poses end up in "!BACKUP\", not sure what the other one's for.  I did find some references in the Registry but they appear to be window size and location data and are possibly Windows-related automatic stuff.  Looking through the exe itself it's not getting info from Save\portable.reg if you have one, but that reg file gets shunted into the registry every time you use "Binaries\TK17_Launcher.exe" to start the game, so it may also be reading the VX part of the registry as it DOES have references to the registry in the exe.

I run my TKX Utils from my game root folder.  Also, if you uncheck "fullscreen" from your initial game settings, it should run in windowed mode and you can get back to the desktop by minimising.  At least that's how it works on my Win 7.

Thanks for the info. Sadly, that info didn't help- I checked the portable.reg file, and there's nothing there that points to the addons folder. I wonder, is anyone still actively maintaining TKUtils? Given how VX works, the program really shouldn't be looking for new mods in the addons folder anymore.

Also, I'd completely forgotten K17 had a windowed mode option, lol. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

Well, all I can say is because I keep a copy of TKX Utils in both my main VX and my test VX game root folders, I get the correct results from both Addons folders.  I can only run one instance of the util, but if I have one running and try running the other, it comes up with the previous Addons folder results, which are obviously incorrect, but that's the only time it'll cause trouble for me is when I try make it cause trouble.. :classic_happy:

Yeah I got it to look at the correct version of the game now, but it's still looking for mods in the AddOns folder, which of course it also adds to for addon mods. You can see how that gets to be messy and confusing. I just wish there was a way to give it a custom name for the folder to look into for mods, like with baseline JSGME. Which I would switch to, but then I'd be missing out on all the handy pose tools, etc., heh.

Also if you go fullscreen, just press F1 once the game loads and it'll open up a web browser and from there you can alt tab back into the game.

Yeah, I am. And to be clear, the pose functions all work fine, that's not the issue. I'm talking about the mod management.
