Better hairlines?

Since I am using hairworks hair, the vanilla hairlines look like shit, especially since you can rarely make the hairline match the color (especially for black hair) and the result ends up looking weird (hair visibly floating over the head, big space between hair and hairline, etc.) And not using any hairlines at all with Hairworks gives the impressions that everybody is severely balding or suffering form scurvy.

Any know of a good replacer or addon for hairlines?

Best hairlines you're gonna find is within the Universal Skin System. Problem is you're going to have to pretty much convert all of your models to skindefs rather than standard H5 textures. It's also possible with the standard h5 system to bake a hairline onto the head texture, but that requires knowledge where on the head texture the hairline sits, as well as OBVIOUSLY knowing how to use Photoshop or GIMP to apply the hairline to the head. The you'll need to do the same for the normal and spec maps for the hairline as well. That method is more time consuming than it's worth (I've experimented with it before I integrated to skindefs). Ultimately your best option for better hairlines is skindefs. Fortunately HDiddy has the system ready to go for everyone here on KE.

Just be mindful that integrating to skindefs take time. But you've got a plethora of folk here who are well versed in how the system works, so if there's anything the tutorial doesn't answer...feel free to ask on the forum and folk will be more than happy to lend a hand.
