It depends on what you want to capture

PoV Clips, the Camera Perspective you see in VR Clips of Sexworkers, FOV to the max (146) + you capture more of the same scene


Normal, you capture what you see FOV 90

FOV 0 is like the perspective off thing in blender, you get a large background but less of your model, with that setting you can capture smaller details and zoom in, like breasts, vagina.. feets god or satan knows what ya want

For videos I use the POV, capturing I do most likely in the normal FOV.. but I tend to capture things in between the max and normal

I only have a 1050 ti currently and I can run everything with tweaks at around 50 fps and when I take videos, they are in 30 but I also read through a lot of things the past week which made me able to adjust my tk17 installation to my liking

There might be something wrong with your files.. maybe you dont have all the hook stuff and maybe your shadows are too high, mine are at 1024 etc

What kind of CPU and GPU do you have? Because I tend to think your PC can't handle the amount of objects (which is normal)

If you just put that room into your activemod, you have to disable all the objects in the level_def file 



As Sexybastardo said, there are many objects, so make all of them from = true to  = false and re-enable them 1 by 1

You have to save the customization in the tab for it and reload it once you reload your model, sadly everytime you change the model

I'll build a completely new one next year with that hardware

So if you looked into the spoiler, you might have to pay around 2500.- € for a completely new PC/Laptop(keep in mind, modern GPUs don't have VGA/DVI-D/+- so you might need a new monitor) which actually is cheaper than I remember 10 years ago to almost get the same performance out of them.. but I am a PC guy so I will always buy PC components and mix n match those

If you install a mod, read the install instructions and regarding hook5 content, do the same.. your game will turn around 180 degrees, even if it is a simple level file for a room.. once read, your tk17 experience will be elevated to the eye of the pyramids.. this game is not Newby friendly but its current users/modders/coders give you the knowledge needed to make the best of it and it is well documented plus easy to adapt to these days

I want to point out that there is a difference in this two methods:
Using the hook5 version is more like a modular construction kit, you can combine hook objects to a new room. Things can be rearranged and placed within the game - so things are easier, but you are also restricted in what you got as hook objects.

If you are using the old way, you need to have some blender skills which can be very tricky at times. Also, if you want to port an existing room from a game (which a lot rooms are) then you better choose this method as well. Additionally, creating a room in this way is not the best choice to start creating addons. If you are completely new to this start with a toy with CTK, then go for the room.

The only question which remains is, do I need a room number like back in the day, as example -> Person A created Room 398, I have to use 399 and add it to a script file?

This script file is obsolete with VX I think, we dont need to add any new lines to any scripts as I have read so far.

Skills won't be the problem, I got a lot better after 10+ years in this kind of scene and I also took a year of a game dev course here in Germany but in that course I only learnt things with Maya/Unreal etc and powered up blender when I was home. 

When I first encounter tk17 it was around 2012 or 2013  I am just new to the simplified structure and tools VX provides

Currently I am creating things in blender like back in the day and to enhance my personal project which might be released next year around december.  

If H5 Rooms can only be used by people with paid h5, I can continue creating my rooms the way I know from before and adjust them with some textures and level files later in the active mod folder, everyone should be able to use them.

 

How are you guys creating your AddOn Rooms? 

Do we need to use this in order to create "new" rooms ?-> 

Or is it okay if I continue doing it the "old" way? ->
