Yes the arcade version was pure gold, but I don't remember which one it was, but one of the console had a 4 players mode, it was great (maybe they were some arcades machines with NBA Jam in 4 players set-up, but I never saw one).

Ah that's too bad, in France they were relatively common at that time. For a group of just 3 or 4 players who get 1 or 2 pads each it was a very good investment (Secret of Mana, every bomberman, NBA Jam, ISS Deluxe, Micro machine, etc). The SNES was a very good machine for multi-player, I think.
