hi @Kraegar great idea to fit a hairband in between! when i was making the hair, i was a little surprised with the height and width of the loose hair, but decided to leave it as it was... maybe i'll create an edit later on with the loose hair a bit tighter on the head..

anyway it's a great example how hairworks can work together with other addons

In your gallery, on your model it looks quite tight  Sits very nice, really!
For my model I have to always increase width and height by a tiny bit, fot it to fit well, like 1.05 or even 1.1 It was like that from the very first hairworks but its totally ok, thats what those settings are for.

By messing with settings some space appeared, seemed perfect for headband   
Another thing to check - try and make a root of your ponytail hairstyle stiff, and use some other accessorie as a grip/holder   (maybe even try that on bun hairstyle)
But fitting some hairworks under the hacker's headwear cap would be the best
