sure you can, but eyewhite will load last, so the normal and spec maps from _pass will show up when you load a model. If you want to see eyeiris, you have to reselect it in game. When you do, the normal and spec map will unload for eyewhite.

You can have the same normal and spec map(stage2, 3) for both eyeiris and eyewhite. Then it doesn't matter if one unloads.

"diffuse override" works too. You can use normal and specular override too and create glowing rotating eyes or growing hearts.

When you use diffuse override for spec, remember to have the same spec name in stage3 as in specular override.

Pretty sure diffuse override will override the diffuse map and not the specular map, but I could be understanding it wrong or maybe hook5 works different. Anyway, I will mess around with it but I have had no success so far. I did get eyeiris to diffuse override but further up in this very thread, some have claimed that it could not be done (that you can't have pass files for eyeiris at all, but to clarify it sounds like you should just use the same norm and spec,) so that's what my post was actually referencing.

I get what you're saying overall. It's how you would assume things should work but in practice VX has it's own quirks and it takes a while to figure out the ins and outs. Searching this forums there is a lot of eyeiris problems in general, with no definite answers, I am not that determined to figure out the mystery of eyepass lol. Better to err on the side of caution in my opinion and play it safe when things are not working out.

It's good to know that specular override is an option, but what do you think would be a good circumstance to use it? I only really use diffuse override to avoid the engine loading textures and rely on h5.

So it doesn't work with any of the h5 skin system ones I have, even tried a few from the forums but they all have the eye bug.

If you want the actual textures and such, I can try puttogether the folders for it (since obviously they're all sitting in different folders in the hook5data folder).

Am I being silly and you're meant to assign an eye texture via the h5 system too? Cause I tried looking at all the other ones and couldn't find anything that stood out differently.

Hindsight it looks like he just needed to update the _pass file to the new directory.

Thank you very much for the answer, I have been learning little by little in this interesting game, I started with modification of poses until now and use Hook 5 but that only a day ago, I had some problems with Hook 5 + Reshade for some compilations not validated with main11. fx so I had to eliminate Reshade and use only Hook 5 but I must say that the image quality increased a lot compared to how the game is normally, my intention is to learn more and more the best I can and for that I make comparisons between what others can do and think: "if others can, so can I", in short ... thank you very much again for the answer and I will see what other new things may be coming out.

Huh thats really strange first time I heard of this! Normally I install Reshade then move H5 stuff to the Bin folder, I have done this with many install/setups and multiple versions of Reshade, even H4 and H3. Never had much problems, (well ok before H5 it was more common for there to be many problems, H5 seemed so complex to install in the beginning, it was a little tricky. But now many years later its just plug and play simple.)

  4. default game is surprisingly capable with some crutches and there is versatility, if it wasnt mods would not save it. Mods take advantage and expand such options, F7C being available is a nice option from the days of swapping and assigning different body mods all over the place. But I never liked FBV2, its good for its time but then everyone moved on once something newer arrived, well it was the same with perv's headmod too so FWIW he just isnt active to update his stuff.

  5. You can do 8K, but the engine is so outdated and there is no support at all.  (guesstimating its 8K based on the clip.) It works in theory, you can also downsample or upscale images but no clue on clips . There is no discernable difference and 8k is not actually used in real-time engines from the era of this game engine, it wont make a difference, there are 8k textures on cloth here on this site, they work, but it doesnt matter because you downscale them if you want to use outside of 5 fps. Anyway texture quality matters, but you can achieve such things and more with H5 if you learn enough about it. Frankly I think an average H5+Reshade setup looks superior to the clip you posted, with any settings.

Kind of a rude assessment. But if that is your thought, that is fine.

Being a admin, I figure I explain this for the 1 millionth time. We updated our forum setting in which forced us to upgrade to a newer version and plan. In general, us updating completely flipped the site. And yes, we are fixing it. Currently we are on the final step BUT it isn't easy like whipping your dick out and peeing in the bathtub. Our data has to be compiled and transferred. And that is currently happening. The process is for some odd reason slow. We are trying to verify our options for speeding it up, but as it stands, our only options is to wait.

Now for comparing KE to MG, the difference between here and former sites like MG is that we are being transparent with what is happening. No BS, no hiding, no banishing critics. I find it odd that some people like to kept in dark. Plus we are operating more on a western structure than that from China, even though its porn, we still have to keep certain taboo kinks out.

Hmm yeah, I guess it's just another day at the office for you guys, but someone who has limited time and visit only sometimes, its impossible to know. Just paranoid I guess, times are dark.

  7. Everytime I say here remove all .bs* file and leave .bs only after decode. Then I get lazy and dont do it, because surely this time there wont be problems. I am banging my head against the table here.

So, lesson re-learned, like a mantra now. ALWAYS DECODE AND REMOVE old .bs* files, they caused this problem for me. Also, even if you have both .BS and .bs*, the game will decode at runtime and override your possibly newer .BS file. All's fixed it seems. It's just not compatible with newer stuff at all.

Seems you have bigger problems or your install got corrupted.  What was the last thing you did before it went poof.

Haha yeah, imagine reinstalling because of this. But all's good and no errors now. U can mark this reply as solution.

  8. The mod let you change the mesh with sliders, if you want to change mesh you must use a separate 3d program. So it's more the daz system than skyrim. In addition you can swap out the base mesh to get new results (.tri file) :

Here is a guide I did on it:

Are you saying .bs files are causing the porting issues?

It's far from impossible. VX is far from finished when it was abandoned, but in general .bs* to .bs is ideal for VX because again, I dont actually trust the auto decoder to not fuck it up.

It can fix some issues for sure, but there is no guarantee it wont introduce new ones. something to keep in mind as you're moving along, that's all.

morphs saving to outfits is very good to know! i just did a test and you're absolutely right. thank you! and i'll take your advice for decoding addons myself. actually, after my initial post i decided to try auto converting all my addons one by one to see if that would fix the issue, and ended up with a strange lua error. in this case, it was r9shoe019 toenails for some reason. so i binned it, then decoded everything else on its own with the original decoding tool in my context menu. its going to be a slow process but thanks for the tip.

There is a pack of old clothes (most 85-90% ever posted) that is available for download on this site. I used it, but unfortunately it's unclear how much porting was done. Most files are .bs* still, but brief testing showed no problem, prolonged use showed more. Well, actually decoding THAT specific pack I believe may have cause more problems. I've went ahead and attempted to slowly resolve it by getting new VX individual cloth ports and replaced the ones in the pack (not everything is up individually or properly ported of course.) So far, I think it's working, but it's also kind of hard to say sometimes, I dont really read the error logs and kind of eyeball, hard to get a feel for where the problem is without extensive testing and I only meddle in VX for <1 year. It seems like a decent practice overall but just note that it does not necessarily do everything for you, when a 7.5 item needs script adjustment for it to port, then it wont solve on it's own (like I did in the item one of the cloth sets that I did new H5 bumps for I posted here, it's a fix for a cloth from that pack that does not port on it's own, intended to be drag and dropped and replaced into that cloth pack just as I described.) Definitely a slow process if you are OCD and want everything ported squaky clean.

  11. Yeah, kind of come back to this game and quit several times over the years, in more recent years it's the mods that keep me coming back. This is actually true for every heavily modded game, for me. I would still play it on and off I think no matter what. But it's good there is an online presence, since from the number of times MG died and resurrected over the years, it seems like the limited existance of interest for this game is small and always dying, so at least there is some kind of portal with some enthusiasm.

My actual experience here has been kind of mixed bag, but I honestly dont care, it doesnt matter, it's an improvement over MG and it's up, so that's more than enough, there is no point comparing it to other sites. Like MG where someone like me would never post because you get attacked for anything there and a lot more aggressive drama (nothing out of the ordinary for a porn forum in my experience, however.)
