Though I am curious, do unused texture files and PSD actually contribute to the memory issue?

No, they don't. They contribute to the loading time. Because the game will read any file before it decides this file isn't relevant - every file will add additional time. But this is only true for ActiveMod files.

So alas with my new room (the g0th club), some hook 5 object clutter and 4 characters (3 of which are Xbodies) I'm sadly hitting a roadblock where once the four characters are loaded up I'm on a short timer before tk dies on me.

So far I've optimized the textures of all the skins (minus the spec and normal maps as am not sure how to go about optimizing dds files), all the rooms textures and even a chunk of all the clothing textures (and obviously I have the 4gb patch enabled).

Does anyone have tips on avoid the memory issue as I'll confess I'm not 100% certain on what contributes to the load but I do know the xbodies seem to be a large contributor but I can't really take those out cause without them then the characters aren't exactly what I want.

    Other tips for the room:

    • Create a low resolution version of it, I mean textures
    • Try to reduce all pngs to be under 1024
    • Try to use the same dds files as much as possible
    • Use PNG optimizer on all pngs
    • Resave all the dds files as DXT1 RGB 4 bpp | no alpha
    • Reduce the vertices of the room (I know, hard to do - you maybe have to redo all the UVs)

  3. How to reduce loading times / How to preventing out of memory crash

In general if you want to reduce loading times/preventing out of memory crash: Config: Turn on the 4GB executable in the option manager Config: Turn on permanent cache in the option manager Config: Set the tmpfifo.max_files & tmpfifo.max_size in your config to something that your system can handle (i.e. 4000 files & 4000Mb disk space) Toys: Use less to no toys, only the one you want to use (causes huge loading times) Toys: Disable ALL vehicles and only activate them if neede

The faceapp picture was much better, the real one has gotten those ridiculous duck-lips implanted 😞

I feel quite the opposite. First one doesn't fit together, face more like a simple neighborhood girl and body/tats like a model.
Nevertheless, I don't like the tattoos though.

For the security and longevity of the site, is it allowed to post models of celebrities with their real name? Or is this dangerous in regards to the site being taken down?

There shouldn't be a problem with that. If you aren't sure you can enter a * in the name or something.

  6. Here are my tought on this issue:

    • I remember it not so much of a problem in 7.5 (something has changed I think)
    • Does it make a difference when you adjust the neck sliders in the body tab?
    • Also, would it be possible to disconnect the sliders for the neck from the rest? Or lock all sliders but not the neck?
    • Did someone try to adjust the neck slider value in the face file itself (decode it with blex)?
    • Hmmmm 1
  7. None of them work?

Let's stick with the horse stable example, it seems the objects aren't there. Did you install them in the correct place?

Can you check the level settings and the folders for the objects by pressing F4 -> level and clicking on the static objects?

I'm quite sure the path is eiter wrong or you installed them not in the correct folder.

  8. I planned to make hairworks stuff like this. But with hairlines, they look really bad in the vanilla game. Maybe I can take a look at them.

And those are very popular, but avaliable only with specific skins.

If I would perpare the hairmesh and the hair, would you be able to draw the density dds files in gimp or ps for different options?

I mean same way as with beards:

But the biggest weak point is weights for when the addon shift location. Though I have decided to take a simpler approach; which is small movements for bigger results. I try not to shift anything too much and will try to keep it close to their weights location.

For large movements, I use alternate meshes, even though that drives up the size of the add-on - it's the only way to solve the weight problem. I would use this, but in moderation. The reason why I would be careful with it is rather that users forget that the "options" exist, also because you can't rename them.

I might be in favor of a common standard for a symbol in the icon that indicates morphs and options.

I have the same thing happening, tested on Chrome, Edge and Safari, all the same.. possibly useful info: it's only occuring with my own stories

Is it possible to resize 4X/H5 Skins (not from the Universal Skin System) to a 1X resolution? Specifically, without them losing definition and not get pixelated when it comes to implemented tattoos, for example?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to do it without losing quality and pixelation. There's a reason why people wanted to have 4x skin, because quality.

Are you always a dick or is this just practice?

I think it is his honest opinion born out of stupidity. It is clear from the content of his post that he neither understands what we are nor does he know anything about modding at all. Read, ignored, done.

You should never, not even once feed the trolls.

Hi I'm new here and new to this game as well. I have installed hooks 5 and attempted to install a mod pack already, I have downloaded direct x 11 but my textures are still terrible. How do I go about fixing this?

You have to add textures and mods to your game. Check out the download section.

Then the 4K _spec & _norm maps really add that extra level of detail that may be missing from 2K _spec & norm maps.

That is correct and we don't want to take that from you. Guess you are in the 5% that can see the difference. I myself are also for high quality. But our 32bit game is not made for 4k textures - only in a limited way - unfortunately. Also, MOST spec maps don't have ANY details at all that would justify a 4k texture. I think this is what @x17 wanted to say with "you don't really need".
