What appeals to me most about them as a couple is how outright UNREALISTIC it is. On one side we have a crass, sarcastic little person with esteem issues, and on the other side we have an elite special forces operator at peak physical condition...with issues in her own right. They're so very different, yet so much the same.

I think it's because of all the couples in my stories, theirs is a relationship that built from conflicted feelings. It can't be overstated that upon their initial appearances in TLWL that upon meeting each other...though both admit they were attracted to each other from day 1, neither knew of the others attraction. So for 4 months they believed they despised each other upon that fateful day where Lori issued her "challenge" to Jimmy. The rest as they say "is history". Now, as they grow together and learn of each others pasts (noted from vol. 7.5 as well as what's to come following the Revelations arch) the bond will get even stronger. We're going to be seein a LOT more emotion from Lori going forward, considering the OBVIOUS swerve her life has taken. So she'll be leaning on Jimmy to keep emotionally protected even more going forward.

Another thing I like them is that they throw in the trash can that battered old trope of man and woman roles in a relationship. They rock.
