The comments of shitposters on LL can say absolutely anything they want ... but the content here speaks another story.

Compare the LL in several months and its content - and now compare this site. Compare with former MG which got content very rarely in last year before it went down. Everyone could see this. And everyone can compare.

Youre absolutely free to go and make your own site, by all means ... good luck 😄

Well, in a bit more than two weeks of Klub Exile - at least from my standpoint, I can say that XilePoints system is working as intended for absolute majority of people here ( 99 % ) as we have got very very few complaints and the content and interaction has grown rapidly.

So, no - the system is working exactly as intended by examining the results in this short time. This wasnt a case with any other TK17 related site ever ... so, by this logic, were doing things very correct.

    The XilePoints system will stay.

If you find a problem or burden with this, you can send us a request to delete your account whenever you want and we will do it.

I do agree with this, and in another post, I did note that the layout and how accessible the site itself is really good and will dwindle confusion, you all did a wonderful job with that. I too want to see the community thrive so mods can keep being made, and this is a great way to do it.

But this, I do not agree with, mainly because it goes directly against my testing/experience of this site thus far, which was one of the reasons I joined and made an account. I found this site and its concepts to be very interesting. So, my opinion still holds; it's a great concept and I love what result it's going to bring, I.E. promoting interactivity, but it definitely needs work.

I do understand - but its not possible to make a "perfect" system here, however it can balanced more . If everything is fully free, we will see the same situation on MG repeating here... passivity, no contributions, lurking, leeching... which eventually leads for whole site to "dilute". We want the opposite, quality of interaction and contribution.

The point is not and will never be to make any "blockages" for members who are not leechers. They will easily download anything with some basic interaction. We will see to balance the system more, but I think that this system in place in long term is a good thing ...

As someone who has leeched a lot on the previous MG forum I actually quite like this new system. I never really understood what is so bad about leeching though. Is it the lack of feedback or engagement from people using content? Or is it more a lack of appreciation of the work you put into it? I'd like to understand better.

The thing is, I've always wanted to contribute something, but since I lack proper modding skills I never knew where to start. Sure, I can fiddle around with addons, extract files and change some textures here and there, but I wouldn't know the difference between a polygon and a UV map in Blender 😁 I guess that goes for a lot of people. And especially with the previous forum having information spread between countless threads it's very hard to make sense of things.

Well anyway, this system actually forces me to be more engaged, one way or another. It gives just that little nudge I need to start participating and interacting with creators and users. So as long as it's easy to gain points by just giving a mod-review or a thank-you, I actually like it!

It might mean there's less people joining the community, but the people who do join are probably more engaged. It all depends on what you're aiming for I guess.

Also, this forum looks really nice. I just hope you guys can keep it neat and organized. That is something the previous forum severely lacked.

Regarding the leeching issues - I think it was more about "diluting" the community where more and more people became passive observers and lurkers, rather than interacting, or even contributing directly to the community. I think that appreciation could be very secondary here ( maybe not for some modders, but I speak from my own perspective ) .

In truth, its very easy to contribute - there are multiple ways, it doesnt need to be hard stuff. It can be simpler editing of textures, or some basic pose making, or similar... and as bonus, people can learn actually how to edit their own game to one extent. One doesnt even need to be strict uploader or mod maker here, but its very welcome and encouraged.

The system just prevents or better said discourages bland lurking and leeching without any interaction. So it will definitely "nudge" people in direction to be more active ... which will overall in long term lead to better community and more content.

On MG, I only really commented on something if I had something to say, like a suggestion towards the game or complementing someone's work, but I never really uploaded pictures. I was still in the process of figuring everything out, hence all the questions I was asking at first, so I don't even really have much downloaded into my game. While I wasn't a hardcore leech, the point system is a bit overbearing regardless, and it feels really only fit for content creators, which I wouldn't say it's a bad thing if that's what the creators of this site is going for, but anyone that isn't a content creator won't easily understand how all others will basically be boxed out of downloading anything, and this is the first forum I've seen take a countermeasure against lurkers this hard.

I see in the future this can probably lead to people spamming pictures, posts, comments just to download something for the people who cannot mod. I do not want to resort to abusing a system to do this, so I will not be. It's an interesting concept, but I do think it's not only anti-lurker friendly, it's anti-user friendly. I believe rather you prevent lurkers or not, you cannot force someone to speak or interact, much like in the world outside of the internet. But, this is just my take, and while I may still interact with the community a bit more than I used to, I don't really see myself playing the game or having fun with it anymore unless a system like this is either made massively more accessible/easier, or rid of altogether. Still, it'll be cool to see the mods people still come up with if I ever have time to window shop. And no, I don't hate anyone here, I wouldn't be here if I did. 🙂 I respect all final decisions regardless of my opinion.

No worries - one doesnt need to upload content to gain access ( ultimately ) to the content. There are some others site with similar systems encouraging interactions.

In truth, it was choosing between making everything open to everyone, with leeching completely left as it is - or doing something regarding it. So, yeah, sure, there could be downsides always with some system, but as the things are weighed in - its still better than encouraging leeching in unlimited ways. One of the main downsides of MG was its confusing layout, but also the unadressed leeching - which lead to only more and more people seeing it as very viable, and vast majority of people havent contributed with anything - not even with some simple communication or posts.

This is what we are wanting to adress here. You dont need to abuse system, you will quickly amass points for anything with some basic interaction ...

  6. Yep, the system is very easy - its primary reason why it is in place is to prevent leeching off without any interaction or contribution. So, in one sense, it rises the quality of whole group.

I think just those purely who are hardcore leeching and lurking continously will find this "unacceptable", but for majority of others it is a breeze, while community only gains with it...
