I find with H5 rooms that have lots of different lights, it's best to load the room initially without any lights turned on.

  1. Use the [Include] functionality to create separate text files for groups of lights so that it's easier to turn them all on/off at once. For instance, create a _bathroomsLight.txt file for all lights within a bathroom, and then copy/paste all of your existing lights from the level_definition into that new text file.
  2. After you've created all your separate text files for each room, turn them all off in the level_definition (i.e bathroomLights.txt = false like in the screenshot below) and save.
  3. Now load the room in-game (all lights should now be off) and enable the group of lights through the Includes menu to light everything up.
  4. If you make changes to the lighting in-game, make sure to re-save with everything turned off before exiting.

My system struggles to load rooms with everything lit initially when loading the room, but turning each group on one by one works well. You can also do the same for groups of objects.

It’s rare, but sometimes the room’s texture are too big in size, being 8k. If that’s the case, you may try to reduce the size of the textures to its halves (8192 to 4096, for example)
