Curious as well. 

Im not too deep into the skins yet, but i was fiddling around an evening and found them to start working after reloading the game twice (load a room, exit the game, load a roam). I also reloaded the model several times (save the model, and load it in the customizer).

I dont truly know what made it work tho.

Have you chosen a hook5 compatible skin in the customizer tab under skin option?

that doesn't show skins, it shows data files that are loaded using _skin_definition.txt + _pass. First you select the skin in body tab, then it will show up in h5 UI-skins.

SkinGeneral has information about the parts. A model has 5 parts: Body, Feet, Genitals, Hand, Head. Each part has its own base layer, plus additional layers if you want.

Each texture (female_white_body, ..._feet, etc) is connected to a Part (SkinBody, SkinFeet, etc)
