Name: James "Sully" Sullivan Jr.

Age: 30

Height: 4'6"

Weight: 117lbs..

Nationality: American

Ethnicity: Irish ancestry

Relatives: James Sullivan Sr. (Father/Deceased), Margaret Sullivan (Mother)

Occupation: Delivery driver/Part-time boxing instructor

Character Type: Sarcastic/Cynical/Humorous/Loveable/Troubled

Musical Representation:

When deciding the initial cast of Stiel Maiden, I wanted Lori's love interest to be unconventional. Sure, I could have hooked her up with a dashing, good looking piece of a man candy...but that would have been too easy. No, I wanted her love interest to be a flawed, troubled fella with lots of potential, but always behind the 8-ball reaching it. Enter James Sullivan Jr, aka "Sully". Now, I've had this character sitting in the rafters for a while now. I actually made him towards the tale end of MG's existence. Of course he was a bit bigger back then...lol. What possessed me to make a little person? A couple of things really. The contrast of Lori being this larger than life powerhouse of a woman...giving her heart to a guy she's 2 times the size of seemed like a unique plot choice.

Now before I go on, I have to explain the initial debuts of Lori and Sully in ECS: Betrayal. I had already plotted out the 1st 2 volumes of Stiel Maiden at that point, and wanted to kind of connect both stories in a way. Six degrees of separation and all that. The scene in the yoga studio with the 2 of them arguing like a married couple was completely ad-libbed. I wanted to make it so that there relationship starts with animosity initially, and quickly evolves into full blown love as both Lori and Sully realize they're exactly what eachother need in a partner...ESPECIALLY with what's to come in the story. As for Sully's backstory, as in hinted at by him...he's the son of a deceased pro boxer. His father, James Sr...was a promising middleweight who was raising up in the ranks fast, but found himself involved with the wrong people. I won't go into detail, because that's to be revealed in the story. James was only 4 when his father passed, and he was raised by his mother Margie to the best of her ability, seeing as it wasn't until he was 5 that they learned of his dwarfism.

Growing up, he idolized his deceased father, and took up a vested interest in boxing himself. As it turns out he's actually quite good at it despite his size. So good that he trains fighters part-time, when he's not working his job as a delivery driver with best friend Chester A. Arthur. Sully is the classic underdog character, but we see him on an upswing of luck over the course of the story. And of course as of the last volume, he's now involved in the "secret life" Lori lives...so now we'll progress into how he handles it. Now where did the inspiration of Sully come from? Honestly...nowhere in particular. He's not based on anyone, if anything...I'd say his personality is pretty much based on my own. As far as his appearance, the goal was to make him look conventionally unattractive, but still like a "cute, angry dwarf". There's still a lot more about Sully to be revealed, and he's going to play a VERY important role in the story in later volumes.

I didn't expect Sully to be the next character profile, but I'll be damned if he isn't a damn good character. I love that despite his physical hindrances, he's still got mad balls! No wonder Lori loves him so! As a couple they remind me of Krillin and Android 18 for how disparagingly different, but absolutely adorable they are. Can't wait to see more of him soon!

Also, I'm REALLY curious about Rory's story now lol!

The comparison with Krillin and 18 is actually a pretty good one. I hadn't even thought of that one...lol. But yea, Jimmy's got a lot of fight in him. Now as far as Rory and Jaeleen's backstory, that's actually going to be doven into in the next couple volumes of ECS:B. In fact, in the next volume some of Jae's extended family are introduced. And one of Rory's family members will join the cast as well, becoming a regular in the story.

There are so many reasons why I love this character. I think Lori said it best when she said "He's so small, but he's the strongest man I know." You really captured the essence of a guy who despite his "shortcomings" (🤣) is reliable, loyal and wonderful human being. But even so, he's still flawed and dealing with the trauma of his life before she came along. If you had to put a voice to him, who'd voice would he have?

He'd probably sound like stand-up comedian Brad Williams, who just so happens to be a dwarf...and fun as fuck. I guess I'd have attribute him as a character inspiration for Sully. As for his persona, I wanted him to fit into the "lovable loser" stereotype. The underdog you can't help but root for because he wears his heart on his sleeve and always look to do the right thing, even when it doesn't directly benefit him. There's a LOT of trauma Sully went through growing up, which will be doven into as the story progresses. He hides that pain in his humor, but deep down Sully's the type to never believe he deserves to be happy. That's of course where Lori comes in.

Okay, at first you had my curiosity... But now you have my erection... I know what I said lol!

That sounds neat! Now, in regards to that, and going back to Krillin and 18 (specifically, their DBZ Abridged incarnation), I think Nick Landis and Amber Connors would be great voices for Sully and Lori if we're talking voice actors specifically. I would go with Nick's natural voice since his Krillin is very cartoonish (he also does Vegeta and Piccolo, sick vocal range) but Amber... She can do badass, vulnerable AND sexy all at once!

Amber Connors would DEFINITELY fit as Lori's voice over. Now I can't NOT hear her voice in Lori's dialog...lol.

Oh really? Do you have any picks of this alternate-universe Sully?

This part was very good! Oh, BTW, I'm catching up late with your stories, but I wrote some questions in them, but I think you didn't saw them, can you look into them? There are some interesting questions that I don't think it will produce spoilers, if so you may answer...

Helluva like Matt Murdock, except that his super-power is dwarfism 😞

Oh shit, those are spoilers for me, lol!

I like Sully, I have mixed feelings about he entering Lori's world. Maybe it's too dangerous for him, maybe he will turn up as usefull as Oracle is for Batman, let's see!

Sadly, there's no images of Sully's original incarnation. He was literally just another meat stick I made for erotic shoots. When I started picking models to convert into characters for my stories, I just went through the oldest ones I hadn't ever used, and he was one of them. As for your questions, do you recall what volumes you asked them in? I'll sort through and answer as best I can without giving away any spoilers.
