Thanks man I appreciate it. In my head I was like why do Visual Novels have to be done in RenPy only. It was a shit ton of writing, but I actually enjoyed it. I used an AI tool to narrate it and it came out better than I thought. It made me focus a lot more on transition poses compared to before.

AI seems a better sollution for that. Did you have to give sound samples for that also?

I am using Elevenlabs. So at first I was going to do the typical use it for speech.  I setup myself up on a paid account that I can add samples (I have a shit ton of samples) but it just did not come out consistent enough to my liking. It screamed AI and robotic, so I killed it and left it alone...then happened to stumble across BlushErotica as I was looking for some inspiration and it hit me.....Voice Overs!!! So that made my search easier as there are a lot of generated voices specifically for the purpose of narrating.  I always felt middle aged English lady accents are more naturally erotic so I went with that.

Elevenlabs has different plans for what you need.  I am using the 100,000 characters a month plan.  This project took about 45,000.

In the end your still writing erotica. So there is that part too.

So, I am glad you discovered ElevenLabs.  I have found they have the best range of voices available for different types of characters.  I have used a few other AI voice sources for more "ethnic" sounding characters, but I think Eleven has quite a lot of resources for most types of speakers.

Well, clearly the next thing to try with AI voices are conversations and dialogue (if you decide you want to add that part). One thing that drives me crazy is that animating speech is such a pain and the built in speech animation in the game is just not very convincing.  One tip I can pass along through trial and error: if you ask Eleven to re-generate the same block of speech, it will vary the tone and inflection from the prior attempt each time.  This can make a HUGE difference in helping the dialogue sound less robotic.  The differences between "1st pass" and "4th pass" on the same block of speech can be quite dramatic and sometimes completely surprising.  Just something to try out if you weren't already aware of the feature.

Forty minutes for one chapter.  Wow.  I think that would take me two years to complete.

Yeah I discovered ElevenLabs when someone posted something about local AI enhanced TTS.  I actually started there but did not like the results and from there was led to 11 Labs.  For the most part I clone my own voices. Once I find a good sample I cut it up and load it into the engine as a cloned voiced while playing around with the sliders to get it where I like it.  I think I have like 12 of them right now.

Dialogue is still something that is a toss up for me. My videos are long, so keeping dialogue consistent but at the same time not robotic would be difficult.  This video had very minimal dialogue as it was covered mainly through the narration.

As for 11 Labs, I am well aware.  This is the reason why this project took about 45k in characters.  I was constantly regenerating to get the way I want it.  That said, I have also found how I write a narration is plays a big part in how 11 Labs handles it.  Using things like "..." for longer pauses or quotes for emphasis helps too. That is at least the small bit of fine tuning 11Labs give you with the text.  The sliders also help too if you are looking for things to be more expressive.

Here ya go, Stairs Poses.7z Its a merge of 2 poses I got from 3X. It is not perfect but the angle I needed did what it needed to do. You may need to play around with it.

Here are all the stairs related poses a grabbed to see what will work.  I think there are some straight stairs poses for the loft.  Some are good some suck. But they are good starts.

I have thought about it, but I never saw the upside.  I don't introduce "Choice" into these stories so it is easier to just run them as a video.  RenPy is great if you want o introduce an aspect of choice into your stories, but kind of unnecessary for linear stories.  In addition animations like this tend to bloat the size of RenPy novels which is why you see a lot of low frame choppy animations with some RenPy content.

Perfect example is the game My New Life...choppy bad animations.
