You know when a fighter's nickname is Magnum Opus, he's going to be a beast. Your boy Yaz is exactly that. I love the stoic hero archetype, because it means when he's pushed to his limit he's going to absolutely destroy everything. I'm interested in seeing what in this story brings him to that point. And I like the kind of Baki The Grappler/Garouden this kind of has. I think you may be onto something "golden" here. (Pun intended.) 😆

It's funny you mention those 2 manga, because there is in fact a lot of inspiration from those...as well as Kengan Ashura. The story will also draw inspiration from the story of an indy fighting game called "Midnight Fight Express"...which is what happens when Dark Souls and Hotline Miami had a baby...LOL. The cast won't be as large as my other comics in scale...but the characters that appear within Magnum Opus will be larger than life in terms of scope. Things won't take long to pick up once the 1st chapter is done.

In just this short prologue we learn a whole bunch behind the character Gerard Yaz and his motivations. And it's clear you've got a lot of lore and backstory behind him and his fighting style. The fact that this all takes place in the same world, at the same time as your other work is one of the things that intrigue me the most. That this character Yaz is the pinnacle of mortal warriors in your universe sets a pretty big precedent as to what to expect from this story, and I can only guess the names mentioned in this entry are other characters that will appear as well. It's safe to say I'm heavily invested in where this goes. Knowing you're as avid about martial arts as you are about military history and experience means this is going to be one hell of a ride.
