  1. Hey thank you! I'll check these out. I appreciate you sharing these!
  2. ¡Gracias mi amigo! Eso significa mucho para mí, especialmente porque conozco su dedicación para hacer cosas de alta calidad.
  3. Thanks for replying @HDiddy It's this one- and definitely a dead link. Do you have it or a way I can get this pack?
  4. Hi everyone! I used to have a pose pack by Nick Cockman that I can't find? I don't remember the name of the pack but it was an FFM set and I think used in a doctor's office? Does anyone have that? (The link is dead, so I can't re-download it) Thanks in advance!
  5. You were a big part of what inspired me to begin! Do you remember the piece you made called wargasm? When I saw that, I though "wow! If he can do that, I bet it's possible to make Pris!" And your work has inspired me ever since!
  6. Thank you so much- I'm so glad you enjoy it!
  7. One year retrospective Hey friends! I have been working on a lot of different things simultaneously in the last few months and wanted to give you an overall update. This is a one year review. A kind of retrospective to look at all that got accomplished toward my overall goal. My goal is to make a total Blade Runner conversion. I want to be able to entirely convert the game into Blade Runner (as much as is possible for me) I don’t know if I will be able to mod all the sounds, and I will have to come back to that. This journey all began one year ago…..so let’s take a look at it. One year ago, I had never used blender and wanted to find a way to make this Blade Runner project. I am not an experienced 3D artist either- that also began one year ago. I dabbled with TK17 starting last summer and that’s the first 3D anything I’ve done. The title shot of this entry is my first attempt to make Rachel one year ago and then my most recent attempt. So, keeping the goal of making the game in Blade Runner…here is where things stand. Up to this point, I have made: Cubemaps This is where things began. My very first mod! I needed backgrounds for photos and for lighting. Here’s my original Rachel character in the first cubemap I created. Here it is in the background of the Sector Four room These have worked out so well to provide a sense of place and the largeness of buildings without needing to build them all. Umbrellas- (these are ported and reworked) Clothing (ported and reworked) Batty coat This one is terrible. I’m not proud of it and I will return to remake it better and more faithful to the film. Deckard coat, shirt and tie- the weight painting on this one is not the best. I will return and learn how to wieght paint and make it better before releasing it. Transparent Raincoat- I have a whole unreleased series of these. But I want to make them better. Then I will release them. Vehicles (ported and reworked) (there are three more colors! I may rework and improve these as I go, we’ll see!) It was so exciting to learn to animate this blimp- getting the searchlights to move and getting the screen to be animated! Here you can see a video example of what I mean: I learned how to make animated and hologrpahic ads! This allowed me to create a dancing ballerina with spinning text banners and a fully animated coca-cola ad on the side of the building! Rooms: Sector 4- this was a collaboration with @Sexvision so he could teach me how to make rooms. What joy this was! @Sexvisionused this to teach me how to use blender and how to create rooms. He spent so many weekends talking me through all the steps and answering all my questions. I can never thank him enough. It’s been a real priviliege to know him and have him as a mentor in all this. I also need to thank @Kraegar , who also taught me so much about texture, light, UV maps. I would not be able to do what I can now without those two. Thank you both for all the problem solving, question answering and mentoring Sector 7 (origianl work) ! Bradbury Balcony (original work) Bradbury Building- Gorund level I discovered I needed to learn to make things differently in blender and that forced me to have to scrap my room. (A room that was nearly done!) Best decision I could have made! It’s forced me to have to learn so many things. I’ve needed to learn to make things better and to make them from scratch. I have been learning how to UV unwrap, how to pack UV’s, how to bake textures and optimize them and how to make clean UV meshes. If you’re following my work, you’ve seen that I have been making vehicles from scratch Making backgroud and environmental elements Making Iconic buildings from the film More recently, I began making new heads for the main Blade Runner characters Rachel- this is a sneak peak of some of the process This is using a temp texture to get the shape right and make sure it works Here she is with the final texture (and what she would probably look like loaded into the average game) Because this is not a typical game head, I can’t use the hook 5 skins, so had to create the face textures myself from scratch And if you spend time on the lighting you can get her to look like this- I am learning to make hair but so far, I’m not too good at it yet. I’ll come back to it as there is a lot of other things to do! Deckard still perfecting him- but he's pretty far along! Pris temp texture final texture Still working on Zhora, Leon, Roy and now Gaff Making clothing and fashion for the background characters Police uniform, hat w visor, tactical vest and pants Fashion hats Functional hats There are more coming- but none that I have good photos of… I didn’t create this- this was created by @sadekhnd but it has been a big part of my development and a part of how I decide to build things now The crowd generator. I can’t brag about this enough on his behalf! What an amazing tool! I can’t wait to use it in the new room Overall, this has been a very productive year! I am closer to my goal than I ever thought I would be by now. I have started work on the new room and will post some updates about that soon. So much thanks to all my friends here who have been supportive and kind. I am grateful for you and all you've shared with me! @Sexvision @Kraegar @sadekhnd @dirtnap @Morius @amaronap @hexd33 @x17 @sexybastardo @Driver @hfg2 (If I've forgotten anyone- my apologies, my brain is now melted)
  8. "You didn't expect me to be at the beach during daylight didja? And ruin this complexion?!?"
  9. Hey friends- I am working on a Harley Quinn character that I hope to one day release as a package....however, I can't find her clothing anywhere on the site (the new stuff not the jester outfit). I thought I saw some in the past.....was I wrong?
  10. Hey man, I don't know you at all....so maybe you're really a great guy and we just haven't interacted enough yet to know. I gotta say- your comment is pretty insulting. You're asking for someone to make you a model- no small feat. You provide nothing, (you don't even have the files and require someone to get them for you) you also offer nothing in return. So here I'm thinking- hey I'm working on heads right now, I bet I could do him a solid and try to make this for him! That could be a lot of fun. So I go research how to find files like this, make textures, go through all the hassle of making the port/problem solving the port (it can be quite a lot of issues) and then happily bring you what I made....for you. And your response is- "can you give your work to someone else to do it better"? Seriously?
  11. Sorry I meant to quote you so you'd see this....anyway, see my post above
  12. Well, I gave it a shot. This is the best I can do. It's not technically a head. This is a helmet, so there is a neck seam, no eyelids and no expressions. You would have to work with it to get it to fit your model, but as you can see it can work.
  13. Hey everyone! I am hard at work on remaking the room! I finished the metrokab and felt emboldened to try something harder! Haha! SO....I will try to make the spinner: Yes, this is probably a crazy and terrible idea. But I can't help it I gotta try! So if you want to come along for the ride.....let's go! So, I began to research these vehicles by studying models that were made for the 1982 Blade Runner film. They are amazingly detailed! I started to make the interior seats- the model looks like this: I could tell I had no good idea of how to make this. Only terrible ideas that would result in bad models with bad geometry. (making boolean cuts) So I scoured the internets for how blender artists make car seats and found this great tutorial! In it, you learn how to create from using a reference photo and positioning vertices to match and then playing "connect the dots"! This is a great way to create something from scratch and I highly recommend this video to get you a fast start on it if you want to try. One thing that really stood out to me was the use of bevels and edge loops. You can see my reference photo in the background. I made most of this by adding edge loops, choosing one to add bevel to and then adding another edge loop inside of that and reducing it's scale. It's kind of like putting a rubber band on a balloon. See along the right edge how I have a third line inside the bevel (the two lines around it)? Now if you shrink the edge loop inside, it does this: This is very much like making a wireframe sculpture and then stretching fabric over it. I've failed many, many times at making this and have to redo it. But the end result makes it so worthwhile! I've worked on this off and on this week and here's how they turned out: And, I got a bit done on the actual outside of the spinner too! Like the little engine that could, I keep telling myself I think I can, I think I can. But the reality is that, on the way, I will fail many times and just try to learn from it and from the thing you all make. Alright, that's all for now....I'm going back in! See you later
  14. Thanks for your kind words, my friend!
  15. Thank you so much! I'm really glad you like it!
  16. Thanks man! That's really nice of you to say and I really appreciate all your support. I hope that all the things I've learned will mean there's more and more like this to come. And then I hope I can pass on what I've learned and others can do even better!
  17. My rebuilding really helped the textures turn out well! Here's my progress from the weekend. Here is what I'm trying to build: and here it is in the film: I'm using substance painter to create the textures and next I will experiment with the best ways to pack them so they work well in the room. Here's mine: That's all for now- more to come soon! I also posted some photos on the WIP gallery:
  18. Thanks man! I used Blade Runner on purpose because I care about it so much. That forces me to not give up and to get it right when I fail. How long? It depends which version This latest one has been 2 weeks, but I mostly work on it over the weekends. However, that time also includes tutorials I have to watch to problem solve. Every time I make something, it gets easier and faster. If you try to learn it, you'll get good at things way faster than you think! The great thing about Blender is there are a lot of people here that can help you and there are a ton of tutorials out there to help, too!
  19. Thanks to you both @Morius and @x17! I have been grateful for your friendship, support and enthusiasm!
  20. As you may already know, I make a lot of Blade Runner content and I have been working on my "ultimate room" that would contain most of the elements seen in the 1982 film. I currently have a room that is nearly complete! The bad news is that I am going to have start over. From scratch! There aren't really any great Blade Runner assets that already exist. So that means I have to make them myself. This has been the inspiration for me to learn Blender, learn how to texture and create rooms. As I was working on it, I could tell it was far too resource heavy and going to max out everyone's computer. So I began to look into optimizing and learned about unwrapping and packing UV maps! It was great to learn this, but it unfortunately exposed that I have been doing things all wrong! I was working on making this: And my blender model was turning out great: However, when I was working on texturing it, it always looked terrible. I discovered that I was not creating topology correctly and needed to entirely remake this. As of right now, I have gotten this far: I'm learning a LOT about geometry and topology- as well as many of the tools in blender! Once I finish this metrokab, I will take everything I've learned and apply it to remaking the room. Why go to all this trouble? Well, if I remake it, most of you will be able to load it and it should run smoothly. I've put a lot of love and effort into this room and I hope you'll find it worthwhile! I'll try to keep you posted here and in my WIP galleries. Stay tuned!
