    Sooooooooooooooooo...I got asked an interesting question by a member regarding my creative universe...the "Ozverse". The question is simply put...do superheroes exist within it? That's actually a bit of a complicated question because there are so many types of characters that exist within it...it's hard to quantify any as a conventional "superhero".
    I'll use 2 of my leading ladies...Lori Stiel and Victoria Crowne as prime examples. Lori is a highly trained spec-ops warfighter capable of incredible feats of skill. In many ways she's akin to Natasha Romanov...aka Black Widow, who is a well known Marvel superhero. So would that constitute Lori as a superhero? By conventional standards...yes it would. But seeing as there's a power scale within my universe and Lori is VERY MUCH mortal, is she really a superhero on account that if she does die, she's dead. Barring any obvious plot twists I would do, anyone with the pages of Stiel Maiden who gets capped...is capped. Done & gone dead.
    On the OTHER end of the spectrum is Vicki...who is for most practical explanations...a God. Her power doesn't just shape reality...it IS reality. Her very existence holds the fabric of the Ozverse in place, and as her story progresses it will be revealed the extent of that power. I mean the girl literally created her own pocket dimension. A plane of existence separate from ALL other existence. However within the Ozverse there exist entities that are ontologically more powerful than Vicki. Like...LEAGUES above her in terms of scaling. These characters are what I consider "The Old Gods", where as Vicki would be one of the "New Gods". Among the Old Gods is obvious be "The Creator"...the LITERAL creator of all existence (which is technically "me"). Comparatively there is the same type of characters in Marvel known as the "One Above All", Marvel's equivalent to "God" and the "One Below All", Marvel's equivalent to Satan. So to would Vicki fall into a pantheon of Gods within the Ozverse...but she wouldn't be conventionally a superhero either.
    With that said, I have kinda sorta toyed with the idea of conventional, costumed superheroes. But the biggest obstacle to doing so has nothing to do with creative limitations. No no, the biggest hinderance to making traditional superheroes is assets. As in actual outfits. It's safe to say the choices are slim pickings...as all that's available are cosplay of existing heroes; Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Power Girl and all the other various outfits available for females. So any characters I come up with would essentially have re-textures of those outfits. That's not that big of an issue, it might just give me a challenge. It's in the men's department that the real issue arises. There are practically ZERO options for a male superhero. There's a couple spandex options and a Captain America suit by @aardy...and that's it. If I were to introduce costumed superheroes, I'd want a diverse cast. That's simply not possible with what's available as far as assets. So for the time bein, superheroes within the Ozverse will be of the unconventional kind. Now if by chance anyone could share any of the classic @Keido male outfits he made back in the MG days that would move the process along...but most of that stuff has been lost to time, even to him.
    Anyways, I hope that clears up the notion for anyone curious.

    Been a while since I mentioned anything in detail of MO, and for good reason. At the time I had initially announced the project I actually only had 2 characters completed; the main character Gerard Yaz and one of his "brothers" Sho Shinoda. Well, over the subsequent months since, I've managed to flesh out the characters completely. I also decided to revise the story a bit as result of some of these characters. While the overarching story remains unchanged from my original plan, there will be more details to play out and contrary to past posts I made regarding MO's "interconnectivity" with my other works, there WILL be tie-in, but only with specific characters. 2 characters to be exact...James Sullivan and Victoria Crowne. How the hell does Sully and Vikki tie-in into a story centered around the underground fighting circuit of Empire City? Can't give it away...lol. Well, I can give a few subtle hints at least.
    Sully's connection will be more grounded, and it will be through the "secondary" protagonist of the story, Casper "Goldenboy" Goldson...who was introduced getting his face kicked in by Yaz in the prologue. If you've kept up with the backstory of Sully, you'd know he is the only son of a now deceased up & coming boxer named "Jolting" James Sullivan. Sully's dad was on the fast track to becoming the light heavyweight champ of the world before he was born, but around the time Sully was 2, James Sr ran afoul of the Castellano Crime Family by not taking a dive in a high profile fight. It's believed this ultimately cost James Sr his life, but the case of his death was never solved. Sully himself is actually a pretty skilled boxer despite his obvious lack of size, and utilizes his knowledge as a trainer part time. This is how he had eventually came to know Casper, as he has trained at the same gym since arriving from Los Angeles.
    As for Vikki, THAT one is going to have to wait because more of her own story needs to play out before I start tying her into MO. There is a LOT to be revealed, and when it is how everything connects is going to blow a few minds. I'll say nothing more than that. As far as production is concerned, I'm just wrapping up getting pics for the 1st 3 episodes...and then I'll immediately get to putting the comics together. I won't give an ETA as to when episode 1 releases, as I suck keeping deadlines...lol. But will definitely be out before the month is over.

    Stiel Maiden
    6 years ago, Captain John Herrig was sent on a solo mission deep in the territory of the Salanoma drug cartel. His task, find and eliminate their leader Lionello Padrazzo, and destroy his stronghold. What he would find there...forever changed his life.
    Operation: Redout is a 1-shot collaboration I'm developing with insights from @Trapp, centered around the ultimate fate of the mother of his female main character Dani, Aura Garcia. In his canon, Aura's life is taken by a jealous client of hers who couldn't take no for an answer. Reading his description of the events stirred the Marine in me to want to create a scenario where this at-the-time unnamed piece of shit gets what's coming to him, so I sent Trapp a message with an idea. That idea has blossomed into this project. Set in the OzVerse, this is the resolution to the same scenario...but canon to the OzVerse version of Dani who will appear in the pages of TLWL (and perhaps Stiel Maiden...I'm playing with a few ideas). I've been toying around with the idea of a 1-shot story with John Herrig before he went rogue since 2022, but it was more of a "day in the life" idea. I do plan on working such a story, but this one affords me a chance to truly plant the seed of what changed John before his 1st appearance in SM Vol.3, as well as showcase him doing what he does best...kicking ass and taking names.
    This story will be a departure from what I've done to date, in that it's strictly action based. No sexy time stuff. No riveting dialog. This is going to be a bloodbath. John Herrig vs. the cartel...where he stacks bodies on top of bodies and makes a discovery serves as the catalyst that led him to the decision he made just a year later that sealed his fate. What discovery is that? You'll have to read it to find out. But it's going to be a gut punch. While in present day John is seen as a tyrant and a murderer, if you've truly followed his motives and beliefs you'd see it's not as black and white as it seems. The ultimate goal of this tale is establishing those motives on top of serving as the OzVerse resolution to the fate of Aura Garcia. I'm in the process of taking the pictures for the project now, and hope to have the story finished and uploaded by the weekend. Again, I want to thank Trapp for the inspiration for this. It's just another example of how the comic community we have here on KE feeds into itself, and I'm proud to be part of this little collective we have here.

    Warriors Of Fate
    In a age lost to time, the Earth was nothing as what is known today. It was a place of mighty kingdoms which held domain across all lands. The kingdoms of Man, Aelf and Dwarf banded together as "The Accord", maintaining peace throughout their lands through this alliance. At the helm of this alliance were the high kingdom of Elrox, the Sky Kingdom. For thousands of years, the Earth knew peace. But a time of strife and turmoil was on the horizon with the rise of Loomis The Black...a warlord who had amassed an army that rivaled even the Sky Kingdom. The Accord was forced to have an emergency council, and with reluctance, Yanos Elrox - High King of the Aelfs, Primus Umber - High King of the 12 and Endrigor Glader - High King of the Stone...moved to wage war against the "Horde Of Rot". Little did anyone know this would set forth a chain of events that would change the fate of the world for millennia...
    That's where things kick off within Warriors Of Fate, the high fantasy epic that will soon grace the comic section. Last year I made a really short comic where I kinda dabbled with the idea. Even though it's titled "Warriors Of Fate Volume 1" it's very much a beta of what I've actually brainstormed since. What I've come up with since is an episodic adventure that is set around a cast of characters fated to join forces in the upcoming battle against a unified evil. But there's an even darker evil looming within the shadows...and if you've read Bubble & Victoria volume 2, you know exactly "who" that darker evil is. In many ways, WoF is the "prequel" to the story I plan to tell in B&V. I know, it's a unique connection...but as both stories go on, and WoF eventually concludes, the connection will be crystal clear.
    While this post is meant to formally announce that I'm officially starting the project, there's a LOT of info that I need to set up and release so that you...the reader, understand exactly what the fuck is going on. So, the setting of WoF is roughly 2000 years before the events of my modern stories. The "Veil"...the omnipresent force that connects all beings to the Earth's mana is still intact...and Vozanath, the being responsible for its destruction...doesn't exist. Not in the form she was introduced at least. No, she's still mortal in this time, still a Penumbra Witch. As this story is pretty much has a finite ending...of which we already know the result of...it won't follow the episodic flow my other works does. WoF will be more a series of separate stories revolving key characters, ultimately leading to the battle against Algoroth. From there, the story will diverge into pretty much the tale of how Vozanath came to be...and how she ultimately destroys the Veil and forces The Accord to dissolve as result. The story pretty much picks up in the pages of Bubblee & Victoria.
    As far as the cast, it's going to be SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than my other projects. So much so that I can actually list the main characters here, so here goes:
    Zyziel Grunwald/"The Swift" - A puckish rogue Gnome mercenary and pretty much the "main" character. He is blessed by an ancient gnomish spell known as the "Enchantment Of Matches" in their native tongue. This grants him the ability to match the actual physical strength of every opponent he fights, no matter their size. As result, every fight he ever engages in, is a fight on equal ground. This means to beat him, you have to quite literally be BETTER than him. And Zyziel himself is an extremely skilled and agile fighter. As you can imagine, this has earned him respect and infamy across the land. While he's technically a merc with no official allegiances, he's not a "sell sword", meaning he takes work from those he deems their cause worthy, not those who can pay the highest. He also has a healthy appetite for the "fairer" sex...of ANY race. Zy doesn't discriminate.
    The Drehd Sisters, Kuvah, Moroah and Ahnrah - A trio of Orc Battlemaidens, the Drehd Sisters were known for being cutthroat warriors who offered their brutality to the highest bidder. That was until of course, they stumbled upon Zyziel  and Moroah foolishly challenged him to open combat. While Zyziel proclaimed he wouldn't kill the sisters, he set the terms of the fight so that should he win, Moroah would be indentured to him until he sees fit to release her. As she was beaten soundly by Zyziel, Kuvah, the oldest of the sisters made the decision that all 3 of them would indenture themselves to Zyziel The Swift rather than part ways with their sister. And so the Drehd sisters became companions of Zyziel. The youngest of the trio, Ahnrah...is blessed with an ability called "The Sight", a mysterious power of clairvoyance which allows her to not only see the true power of a person by way of their mana, but also lets her glimpse into the future for a breif moment.
    Miren Olifandre/Knight Captain of the Sky Coven -  Miren Olifandre, Knight Captain of the Sky Coven. She leads the Knights of the Silver Wing, who are charged with the protection of Kingdom of Silvered Wings, one of the 4 kingdoms of the Sky Coven of Elirhia. Might, brave and just...but equally proud and stubborn, Miren has set off on a journey across the lannd in search of Loomis The Black, who is responsible for countless deaths, including that of her lover, Charon.
    Luna Blackgrave/The Darkhunter - A renowned demon hunter, very little is known of her origins. What is known however, is that she's as fierce a warrior as has ever been seen. With a mysterious connection to the Void, many believe she may actually be a Knight Enchanter of the Penumbra Witches, but she claims no coven. With the rise of the Horde Of Rot, there's no questioning the demonic resonance among the forces of Loomis The Black. With the impending battle on the horizon, Luna makes her way to lend her sword to The Accord.
    Vigo Helwig - A Ranger of House Ander, Vigo is one of the most skilled swordsman of the 12 houses. He also happens to be for better or worse...a total prick. Often times, he's mouth gets him in trouble, even among his own allies. But the quick witted Ranger backs his bravado up with an almost superhuman battle prowess. Ever ambitious, Vigo sees the coming war as an opportunity to perhaps gain enough renown among the Houses to form a 13th house...or at the very least make himself rich beyond means.
    Aymon Halolen/Knight of the Avalais - As introduced in B&V, Aymon is an Avalais Knight, sworn protectors of the Penumbras...and the Penumbra Witches.
    There will be other characters within the story, which includes the "mortal" Vozanath and Zelent, high queen of the Spriggan, but the above characters are who the story will center around, as they all eventually band together to partake in the war against Loomis The Black's forces. This story will be told across 3 chapters...the forming of their alliance, the war against Loomis, and of course...the rise of Vozanath and the destruction of the Veil. I'm REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY looking forward to telling this story, specifically to establish the presence of Mana and further set the stage for the "endgame" of Victoria's story. I'll also be doing shorter stories involving the character not attached to the central plot, to establish the characters a bit more and have a lil' fun with them. So year, that's the plan for this project. I don't have a set schedule in terms of when I'll release each volume, this is more of a pet project for me. That's pretty much it for the time being. Obviously as things develop further, I'll make follow-up entries on the project.

    The Love We Live
    You're damned right she is!!! Ok, so I'm spoiling the surprise a bit...but it's too exciting an idea to keep it under wraps. As I mentioned in my previous blog, TLWL vol. 13 officially ends the 1st chapter of the story. Chapter 2 kicks off with 2 volumes focusing on Lucas Watts in Los Angeles...and vol. 16  onwards is were we see the stories of the side characters begin to play out as it'll be a full calendar year from the day Henry, Rory, Bianca & Jaeleen met that fateful day at Pub Exile. In Chapter 2, I've decided I wanted to add a couple new characters to the mix, specifically characters from the community. The OzVerse version of @gobman's model Kate will play a major role in Luke's story following vol.13 as I hinted at in previous blogs as well. But this one here is all about @Trapp's bad lil' good girl, Dani Oliveras!
    When he released her into the wild last month, I knew I was going to add her into the mix somehow. I just had to figure out how to slot her into the OzVerse. Well, I'm happy to say I've finally figured it out, and it involves the 2 gals she's walking alongside of in the image above. How? Simple actually. Rosalita Rivas, the 61 y/o mother of Jaeleen Maxon-Rivas, will have been born Rosalita Oliveras. That's right, in the OzVerse...Dani is one of Jaeleen's 1st cousins. Her closest cousin in fact. So how does this work? The magic of the multiverse, that's how! My general rule for other folks characters is to not to deviate to greatly from the original vision of the character, but find a way to fit them into the overarching world I've built. This requires some general but not drastic changes to the character's origin within the OzVerse. In the case of Dani the biggest change is that her parents are alive and well....uhm...old. Like, in their 70s old. She's still an only child, but her parents will have had her in their 40s. Yea...she was a whoopsie 😆. Her father is Rosalita's older brother, so to Dani, Rosalita is "Titi Rosa". As for the OTHER biggest change...there's no Max Huerta. Well, not in her life that is. Max Huerta would exist in the OzVerse...but his path with Dani will never cross. Perhaps the OzVerse version of Max is married to Monthy and they're working on child #3. (FUCK KAREN DUMONT!!! 😆)
    As for all of the other elements of Dani...nothing is being changed. At her core she will be the exact same way she is in the Trappverse as far as her mannerism, personality and most importantly...her desires. In the OzVerse, she's still a college student, but opted to attend Empire City University rather than stay on the west coast, so that she can be closer to the east coast family and her favoritest cousin in the whole wide world. As there's an 11 year difference between them, Dani looks up to Jaeleen as a big sister of sorts, and Jaeleen being the enterprising woman she is, never shies from an opportunity to help Dani out. In story, there won't be much of a build-up to Dani's appearance as technically she's already been in the fold from the start. As I focus in on Rory and Jaeleen's story, Dani will obvious make regular appearances. And of course, I've got my own story planned for her. Took some brainstorming, as I wanted to it be a departure from what Trapp has going in CNC Baby. While the OzVerse Dani is still VERY MUCH an introverted young woman bursting at the seams to find her sexual identity...as well as her place in the world as an adult...my version of her will doing so in the LARGEST CITY IN THE WORLD. So there's PLENTY of opportunities, experiences and heartbreaks she can go through.
    Now, onto to the OzVerse Dani's overall design. As you can plainly see...I didn't change much. In fact, I didn't change ANYTHING on a drastic scale. I slimmed her arms down a bit, and converted the skin texture Trapp uses for her into a skindef, so that I could uses detailed layers on her (such as @Driver's sweat and tears skin layers) as well as give her similar eyebrows to Jaeleen. Aside from those changes she is the mirror image of the original version down to the fact that she's TINY AS FUCK! I mean...you side the image. Jaeleen is wearing stilettos (cuz of COURSE she is) but even barefoot she'd be at least 4 inches taller than Dani. As the story rolls on, I'd like to give her longer hair as well, but to start I wanted her to look as identical as the "prime" version of Dani as possible.
    In closing, I'm really excited about including her into the TLWL story and the OzVerse as a whole. But she won't certainly be the last. I've also got OzVerse versions of @hexd33's Hannah...named Hannah Brightley, @SovietTiger's Rassia...named Rassia Montanez and @Morius's Mari Azai ready to roll, Hannah to appear in TLWL in a new storyline I'll be telling involving Torrie Ostermier, Rassia to appear in the pages of Stiel Maiden as an elite Spetsnaz agent, and Mari in the pages of Magnum Opus as a hard hitting, wise cracking detective and member of the ECPD Anti-Gang task force. I've got other surprises in store, but it's too early to speak on those plans. Soooooooooooooo yea...Dani & Jaeleen are familia in the OzVerse. I'm gonna have some SERIOUS fun with her for sure.

    The Love We Live
    I just wanted to make a write filling folks in on where things are going. Initially, with the next couple volumes of TLWL, I had planned to re-introduce Lucas Watts, Henry Reese's now estranged best friend who cheated on him with his now ex-wife Christine Vincent ne' Reese at the tale end of the next volume, 13. Well, as what usually happens with me when I have a good idea...it took on a life of its. Rather than just bring him back into the story in bits & pieces...it's turned into a full blown side story where a series of events unfold with Luke as he tries to adjust to living in Los Angeles that was just WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too good to spread out. By & large the plans I have for Luke is still the same, they're just going to happen faster then I initially anticipated. In all honesty, I'm having a blast putting this side story together, as it allows me to not only introduce new characters on the west coast...including a character from another KE member who plays a pivotal role in Luke's story going forward...but it allows me to delve into the flawed and misguided nature of Lucas Watts.
    For those who haven't read the previous volumes (of which you can catch up on it all by visiting the blog of mine made previous to this one), Luke puts on a brave face...but is an extremely damaged man. The product of a broken home, Luke's issues manifest in him making poor choices. Choices that over the 22 years he'd known Hank, his best friend would have to bail him out of. Lucas looked to Hank a brother, and to Franklin Reese as a father. Since betraying his friend and exiling himself from Empire City due to the fallout, he no longer has that safety net. For the 1st time in a long time, he's got to make decisions on his own. Decisions that if they don't pan out, he has to face alone. I feel the need to do this for Luke to go into his mental to state and reveal what possessed him to do what he did to Henry, and how he's coping with losing the only true family he's ever known. Without going into details or spoiling too much, Luke's tale will be a story of self discovery and coming to terms with one's actions. It was never my intentions to make Luke out to be a "villain" type character. He's just a fuck up, and fucked up in the worst possible way. His story is about taking accountability, learning from one's mistakes and coming out on the other side better. It's kind of a redemption story, but what he's redeeming is his own self worth.
    TLWL Vol.14 will pretty much serve as the start of the "2nd Chapter" of the story. As I mentioned in a previous blog, the plan is to branch out and focus on the doings of the other characters and scenarios I've introduced outside of Henry, Bianca, Rory and Jaeleen...though there will be MAJOR events happening with our 4 main characters. Specifically an HUGE event involving Rory that's going to shake that side of the story to its core. Volume 16 specifically will be a milestone, as it will mark the passage of a full year since the night the 4 main characters came together and their lives were forever changed. It's in this volume to 2 of the biggest events to happen thus far will take place. As far as Volumes 14 and 15, those 2 will be solely focused on Luke, and the events within will span about a month. From there comes the 2 major events of vol. 16, and branching out to the other characters. And yes, even Lori Stiel and James Sullivan will reappear within the 2nd chapter of the story as well. In fact, I think it'll be quite surprising to those of you who have followed my collective work how this happens. (Spoiler: So far, I've only shown Lori interacting with Priya Persat and Zenaida Dupri, not Bianca. There's a reason for it...which will be revealed when she Lori shows up in TLWL again.)
    Sooooooo yea. I've a lot of of things happening. And what's even better is I have the time to do it, and there's no blockage of ideas. I've managed to find a workflow where I actually have several volumes of all of my stories already done...in terms of the images. All that's needed is putting the actual comics together. In terms of TLWL, volumes 13, 14 and parts of 16 have all the images grabbed. (Why not 15? Well, I'm working on that as I typed this. I originally had planned for 15 to actually be "16", but again...I came up with so much good shit for the Luke side story that I decided to give Luke 2 whole volumes focused on him.
    I also made some MASSIVE changes to Luke since the last time we saw him. 1st off switching his head mod to the GEMale head. NeatMcGee's male head is nice, but the eyes are too narrow, and seeing as I tend to focus a lot on the face and facial expressions...I needed something with more versatility. Also, he's completely shaved his head. When last we saw him, he had cut it short, but since being in LA he's opted to go clean bean. He had also shaved his beard, but he's slowly letting it grow back out. I also gave him a completely new skin texture thanks in part to the skindef system and @HDiddy's body hair layers. I've actually been in the slow process of converting all of my story used characters to skindefs, since only the ABSOLUTELY MOST RAREST OF OCCASIONS will these characters ever be shared.
    That's pretty much the shape of things to come regarding TLWL. This March will mark 4 years of me working on this story, and doing comics as a whole. It's CRAZY to think it's already been nearly 4 years. I delved into this while NYC was on lockdown from COVID, and I've not turned back. TLWL of all of my stories is my passion project, because it's an extension of ideas and stories I had come up with from the years I had played The Sims (TS3 namely) after getting out of the military. But I'll save that for another blog. MORE COMICS ARE ON THE WAY!!! Like...a LOT more. WE ROCKIN' BABY!!!

    The Love We Live
    So, it dawned on me that I should probably rebrand the older albums from "Empire City Stories: Betrayal" to "The Love We Live". It also dawned on me that since the server issue we had early last year, a lot of folks probably even saw the earlier entries. So here they are. As the story is about to go into branching directions in future volumes, here's a one stop destination for every volume released to date for those new folks, or folks who'd like to get caught up on where things started for Henry, Bianca and everyone else. Production on Vol. 13 is underway, and I hope to have it out in a week or so.

    With TLWL Vol. 12 done & released, I've officially started the "2nd chapter" of the story. There's still 1 last "couple" to introduce, which will be done in the next volume...after which the story will start focusing on every navigates life leading up to the next "big event". If you've been reading along, specifically the last 3 volumes, I've dropped subtle hints of what that event will be, but I digress. TLWL is easily the biggest of my 3 (soon to be 4 once I start working on Magnum Opus) comic series, with lots of ideas, characters and tie-ins to my other comics (notably Stiel Maiden, but there'll eventually be crossover between TLWL and B&V as well). It's obviously also the oldest of my comics, me having started it in 2020 not long after we created Klub Exile. In this blog entry, I want to share some insights behind the story, as well as details behind some characters and ideas that you, the reader...would never know. So without further ado, let's do this.

    Henry & Bianca...are race swapped - When I came up with the original concept of the main characters, Henry Reese was a black man, and Bianca Dupri was a white woman. What made me decide to change them? Well...the rest of my content. 90% of my content is interracial, and the majority of that usually involves a black man and a white woman (my preference...seeing as I myself am a black man). When I started writing the script to Vol. 1, I decided to swap their races, and create brand new models for both of them. This leads to the next detail below...
    Shelton and Madeleine...were Henry & Bianca - The original models and character concepts I had planned for Hank & Bee, where integrated into the characters Shelton Goggins and Madeleine Leroux. The 1st draft of the story had Henry (Shelton) as a down-on-his-luck loser and Bianca (Maddy) an aspiring baker who just moved to Empire City. The romance would begin with a chance encounter at "Bianca's" bakery Au Bon Fournil. Of course, I scrapped that idea when I changed the races of both, made new models created new backstories for both. The original Henry became Shelton, who's overall story hasn't changed, and the original Bianca became Madeleine, who's overall story hasn't changed from the original draft as well...it was just altered making her a secondary character. The plan of how she meets Jaeleen & Rory was always meant to play out the way it did. As for Shelton, when I opted to make "True" Bianca a yoga instructor...I decided to connect him romantically to another besty of Bianca, Priya Persat...who I created so be a support character.
    Rory & Jaeleen's criminal past - A known, but unexplored aspect of the other 2 main characters of the story, is that they both were essentially "Bonnie & Clyde" in their youth. While this aspect of the characters will be further explored in future volumes, I was initially conflicted on how to establish the tumultuous relationship between the 2. I initially planned for it to be somewhat antagonistic (Which I played upon in the 1st version of ECS: Betrayal 1 before I retconned it with TLWL 0) but decided to go with a more emotionally charged dynamic between the 2 centered around them never wanting to return to that life again, and dealing with the grief of losing Jaeleen's older brother Miguel "Mikey" Rivas mere months before their year long separation. As I've now introduced Jaeleen's parents into the story, the Mikey story arch will run its through all 4 characters, as the 2 year anniversary of his death now looms in the near future.
    The troubled life of Lucas Watts - As mentioned in his heartfelt talk with Frank Reese before departing Empire City, Lucas Watts is a fucked up individual. While he may seem big and boastful, with his muscular frame and boyish good looks, Luke is actually an extremely tragic character. He was raised in an abusive home, where his father would beat on him and his mother daily. As a child, he bonded with Henry because he was one of the only kids who didn't judge him, as Luke wasn't a good student at all, and struggled to make his grades because of his household trauma. It was one fateful day when he came to Hank's home sporting a black eye and a bruised cheek that Hank pleaded with Luke to tell someone about what has happening at his house. Up to that point, Hank was the only person Luke confided in about his abuse. Luke finally relented and told Frank, who proceeded to pack both boys into his truck, drive to the Watts residence in The Hallows, and beat Luke's father Jacob...an ECPD officer...within an inch of his life. Frank, who was at the time at the tail end of his military career, warned Jake if he ever tried to retaliate or find Luke and his mother Dawn, he'd "finish the job". Frank proceeds to call in a favors from his friends in the government to have a permanent restraining order placed on Jake after helping Dawn & Luke move to the other side of the city. Jake vanished never to be seen again, and Dawn eventually remarried.
    Luke however, was forever affected by his father. Though Frank pseudo adopted him as a 2nd son, Luke was never able to escape the demons of his traumatic childhood. Though he appears to be strong willed, it's actually a front. He's a conflicted and easily manipulated man, evident in how he was essentially seduced by Hank's now ex-wife, Christine Vincent. His story arch will pick up with him across the country, living in my universe's version of Los Angeles, trying to cope with the idea that he no longer has his "family" to fall back on and for the 1st time in his life is completely alone. While Christine's story arch is going to see her "punished" a bit for, Luke's story arch will be a redemption story of sorts. Won't got into details as not to spoil things, but it'll kick off in TLWL vol13.
    The fate of Christine Vincent - So yea, Chris' situation in Vol12 was a bit intense...and that's be design. Her story arch is going to be rough, and while I won't spoil the big stuff, I will safely say she will not be the same woman she was at the start of this story. Already dealing with the guilt of losing Henry and gaining the ire of her father as result, Christine is headed down downward spiral that's going to see a LOT of changes in her life, some good...some bad...but all completely unexpected. Will she get a "happily ever after"? Not sure yet. But she will go through some humbling experiences that knocks her down a peg and teaches her valuable lessons about who she really is as a woman, lover and human being.
    Hermione Reese - Hermie Reese was LITERALLY a last minute character. She was created because I wanted Hank to have a sibling for the sake of the scene in Vol8 where he tells his father about his impending divorce (Note: He's named "Gordon" Reese, but I changed his name for Franklin...and never bother to edit in out). The concept of Hermie is pretty simple...she's everything Henry isn't. Identical twin to Henry, Hermie is quick witted, sarcastic, outspoken and swears like a sailor, nothing like her low key, reserved and stoic brother. Comparatively, Henry would be more like their mother Henrietta "Henri" Reese, and Hermie is more like Frank...just less pissed off at humanity. As has been expressed in her appearances in the story thus far, Hermie LOATHES Christine...and has done so since the very 1st time they met. She also had a years long crush on Lucas, but never acted on it. Unlike Hank, who had been with Christine 11 years...married 10 at Hermie's 1st appearance, Hermie has never been in a serious relationship. Being an aspiring stand-up comedian, she's dedicated her life to her craft and as such...has no time to commit to a relationship. However, over the course of the months that has followed her initial appearance in the story, she's found herself involved with a stagehand at the comedy club she frequents by the name of Anwar Chavez. Her 2nd appearance in the story sees her...now inspired by the success of her brother's relationship with Bianca...to give true romance a chance with Anwar.
    Tie-in with my other works - As I've hinted about in past posts, all of my stories take place in the same "universe". While Magnum Opus will not cross over into the other 3 stories...the events of Stiel Maiden, Bubblee & Victoria and Magnum Opus will be either felt or mentioned in some way in TLWL, as well as events in TLWL playing out in SM and B&V. Notable events have been OBVIOUSLY the debut of Lori Stiel James "Sully" Sullivan in ECS:B Vol5. I actually hadn't even PLANNED SM at that point, but when I did...I immediately decided to have the resolution of their "argument" at Bianca & Priya's studio play out in the 2nd volume. There's also the appearance of Silas Greenly, Hank & Rory's lawyer friend in SM Vol 7.5, who is a childhood friend of Sully and will also make further appearances in that story. I have other tie-ins planned, 2 of them being pretty mind blowing. The universe I've created is an alternate universe to our own, where such things as magic and other species of humanoids exist, such as elves, orcs, dwarves, gnomes, dragons, spriggans and all other types of fantasy races exist. I actually plan on making another post where I explain the actual "lore" of my universe. It's pretty detailed when I come to think of it.
    Alternate versions of OTHER people's characters - There are a number of model creators here on KE that I'm big fans of. Sadly, a lot of these creators don't share their most popular models. Can't blame them, I'm guilty of this myself. Only on special occasions will I ever share a model from one of my comics with someone, and even then it'll be with someone I trust to no do the character an injustice from how I portray them. However, the characters I HAVE actively already shared I'm pretty much ok with anyone using in content ACCEPT PATREON CONTENT. (Sidenote: If you're a Patreon creator, and I see any of my models in your work and haven't received a PM from you asking for permission to use them...don't even bother asking for an account deletion...I'm IP banning you from KE out right.) That being said, I predominantly stick to using my own characters because there's an aesthetic "art style" I make my characters with. So if I do decide to use the model of someone else, I will obviously ask permission to do so, and express to them that what I'll be doing is creating an "alternate universe" version of their original character...as they would exist in my creative universe. So say for example...if I decided I wanted @SovietTiger's Rassia to appear in Stiel Maiden...as "technically" Rassia has military training, so she'd actually fit in that story as a covert operative...I'd naturally as for permission to do so, and make some subtle changes to her. For example, I'd age her by 10 years, as ST's original version 22. As far as real life military goes...a 22 y/o is still grunt level junior enlisted...either a Private (Pvt) or Private First Class (Pfc). By at least 30-32, you've seen some combat and have raised in the ranks from any rank to Sergeant (Sgt) to if you're elite level, Captain (Cpt). So my version Rassia would be 32 y/o and a seasoned veteran of war. Also, as the Russian connection within Stiel Maiden are badguys...I'd keep her Mexico, making her one of their top Tier-1 operators. (Another note: IRL there are no female special forces operators. But this ain't real life, so fuck it...LOL.) One such occurrence will actually be happening in TLWL Vol13, as @gobman has given me the okay to my favorite creation of his Kate as a character. As I stated...this will be an alternate universe version of Kate, so aesthetically she'll have the look uniform to my characters...but she'll unmistakably retain the identity of her original version. So yea...if you want an alternate version of YOUR character to appear in my work, just let me know. Or i'll just come to you with the idea when I've cooked up something that I could slot them into.
    The Creator - You've seen the term used frequently in my work. I explained the concept in passing within my comic "On The Inside", but I'd like to further elaborate on it a bit. As the universe I've "created" is a parallel universe of real life, to the characters within the universe...I'm technically "God" to them...in the same context that deities in religion exist here. Now, religions such as Christianity, Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, Taoism and all others exist within my universe...there's only 1 actual "God of Gods"; The Creator. If you've read Marvel Comics, there are 2 characters within the Marvel Universe known as "The One Above All" and the "The One Below All". They are the penultimate "God" and "Satan" of Marvel's universe. Do other gods and devils exist? Yes. There's characters like Thor, God of Thunder and Mephisto, ruler of Hell in Marvel. But ToAA and ToBA are the absolute pinnacle deities. They are the literal creators of the Marvel Universe. My concept of The Creator is the exact same. In my universe, there are demi-gods and parademons. There are gods and devils. There are paracausal beings. And then, there is The Creator...who created all of the above. A being existent above all other beings. While it is technically "me"... The Creator manifests within the universe in many ways, most commonly through narration (the gold narration boxes are the worlds of The Creator). It's a way to affect the stories on a paracasual level...while also avoiding any real religious undertones. If you've notice, I replace terms like "Oh God", "My God" or "Thank God" with Creator or Gods instead of God. This is an in story, universal acknowledgment that there are many deities that exist within my universe. So now you know the reasoning behind it as a reader. The in-universe explanation will be far more intricate.

    So yea, I think I'll stop there. This has been a LOT of fuckin' typing. There's many other insights...but I save those for other blogs. If you made it to the end...you da' man. I know this was a lot of reading. I put a lot of thought into my work, and I just wanted to share some of them with you all.

    Keep klubbin', Exilers.

    So, as I'm still in the process of creating the cast to my martial arts/supernatural series "Magnum Opus", I wanted to take the time to delve into the subject of power scaling within my creative universe. Now, as far as the overarching universe as I've pointed out in several post and mentioned in a couple of my stories...the universe of which my characters exists in is based on ours in theory alone. Fantasy elements exist within this universe, though I've only scratched the surface of those elements in my stories. Elves, Orcs, Gnomes, Dwarves, Spriggans, Dragons, Vampires, Zombies, Aliens...and everything else you can think of exists in my universe. That being said, there would also exist within my universe beings of incredible power. So I wanted to go over some of these aspects...as they'll be touched upon in future stories.
    So, who is the strongest mortal being in my universe? As in the strongest living soul capable of dying to mortal injury. That distinction CURRENTLY (keyword, "currently") goes to the main character of Magnum Opus, Gerard Yaz. For most practical purposes...he's a one man army. For reasons that will be revealed in his story, he's capable of fighting off dozens of attackers...at the same time. His proficiency with weapons is also on a level that makes normal people look like children. In a nutshell he's the absolute strongest character in my universe capable of dying. There are other characters who fall into this category, such as the gnomish warrior Zyziel featured in my Warriors Of Fate short. (Which I do plan on continuing at some point) Most of the fantasy characters in my universe fall into this scale as well such as Xyros, Wun, Tuu, Ashlith and the Drehd Sister Kuvah, Moroah and Ahnrah, but Yaz is without a doubt at the top of the heap. So what about the other mortal characters? Where do they scale?
    Well, pretty far down from Gerard...but definitely not low tier. At the top of that list would be Lori Stiel and John Herrig, both elite level special forces operatives. As far as the Stiel Maiden story, they are about the same scale in power, witch John naturally having the edge in physical strength, and Lori having the edge in cunning and tactical prowess. They're good...REALLY good. But if I matched them both in a fight against Yaz, they'd get starched. As in BOTH of them...at the same time. Below them would be other characters with Stiel Maiden and characters to be revealed in Magnum Opus. All elite level fighters in their own right such as the El sister Ayla & Raisha, Maceo Bastion, Belaya Viverna, the rest of Reaper Squad (Lieberman, Hilton & Kristoff) and so on.
    But what about characters who AREN'T mortal? How does the scaling of the immortal characters in my universe go? Well, at the top of the heap would be "The Weaver of Chaos" Vozanath. She's the penultimate evil in my universe (think along the lines of Thanos in Marvel or Darkseid in DC). Are their other characters who could match her power? Yes...but of course they haven't been revealed yet. Below this would characters such as Aymon Halolen and the "Queen Of Shadows" Zdenka Gaspar. Are their other immortals? You bet there is, but I've yet to introduce them. So, you may be wondering why a certain Penumbra Witch isn't listed here. Well...that's because she falls into the next category.
    That category is para-casual characters. These are the characters who are the highest scaled in my universe. The characters capable of bending and shaping reality. The character who defy all ontological laws of physics. And sitting at the top of the list...is Victoria Crowne. As the Penumbra Witch, her power is LITERALLY the void itself, or what we call in the real world "Dark Matter"...which science says is the matter that holds the universe in place. In my universe, that energy is known as the Penumbras...or void. The Penumbra Witch commands the void...so Vikki can pretty much do anything in the universe. Like the immortals, there are other para-causal beings within my universe yet to be revealed...but they will be in time.
    And the of course there are "The Creator" and "The Destroyer". I've already spoken about the concept of The Creator in my previous blog...and The Destroyer is basically it's opposite. The Creator brings life to the new, The Destroyer takes life from the old. I eventually plan on diving into the dichotomy of these entities in the pages of both Bubblee & Victoria as well as Warriors Of Fate, and yes...they will actually have corporeal representation...which I'm to this day working on as it's testing the limits of my skill creating Hook 5 skin layers. OBVIOUSLY these 2 entities are the absolute most powerful beings in my universe. They're neither mortal, immortal or para-causal, they are omnipresent...existing in all time, space and matter at all time.
    So yea, that's pretty much how power scaling works in my universe; mortal, empowered mortal, immortal, divine,  para-causal & omnipresent...with varying levels within each. And this doesn't count the scaling between species either, that's a whole other topic.

    Magnum Opus
    Name: Sho Shinoda
    Age: 32
    Height: 6'4"
    Weight: 198lbs.
    Nationality: American
    Ethnicity: Japanese
    Relatives: Hiro Shinoda (Father), Hikaru Shinoda (Mother), Katsuo Shinoda (Younger Brother), Hisako Shinoda (Younger Sister)
    Occupation: Street Fighter, Yakuza Underboss
    Character Type: Brash/Unhinged/Short-tempered/Vengful
    Musical Representation:

    Prodigal son of the Shinoda clan...and one of the most dangerous men walking the Earth. Sho Shinoda is a man with a history bathed in blood. Murderous, sociopathic and idyllic...Sho has lived his life in service to his clan and his father, Hiro. Due to the brutal upbringing at the hands of his father in the ways of Hakai-Ken, he has embraced the more murderous aspects of the art, creating his own form of the style he calls "Hakai-Shin" (True Destruction). At 14, when Hiro adopted a young Gerard Yaz off of the streets, Sho at 1st took offense to this, and the 2 young men had a bitter rivalry amongst each other. But within a year, Sho realized Yaz was a prodigy at combat, and decided he'd be best suited embracing his new adopted "brother"...since he would clearly be a ranking member of the clan when it became time for him to assume control from his father. Sho & Yaz would soon form a friendship, which would then grow into a sworn brotherhood. In the midst of turmoil brewing in Japan due to the events happening surrounding the Alpha Liberation Army (ALA), the most powerful of clans in the world, the Tennouji...seem to be on the cusp of a civil war. This unrest has spilled over to the other clans, as sides are being chosen of which of the 2 Tennouji heirs to follow. Hiro has thus far remained neutral, as whichever side he honors will likely be the victor...and he sees no gain in fracturing the clans over something so trivia. Sho however...sees things vastly different from his father.
    Take a glimpse at the heart of utter murderous madness. Sho Shinoda is NOT an honorable man. He's violent. He's cutthroat. He's certifiable. He also happens to be a world class fighter and a master of several weapon styles, his favorite being the Japanese long sword...the Ōdachi. Whereas Yaz has humility and is rarely bothered, Sho is arrogant and is easily angered. Many within the underworld fear him for this fact, even those among his own clan. The only men who don't are Yaz and Hiro himself. The brotherhood between Sho and Yaz is well known throughout the underworld, and they've stood as the primary guardians of Shinoda interests within Empire City since their early 20s. As a person, Sho is a total piece of shit. A womanizer. A misogynist. You name it. He believes that all things must be earned by might, and if you're too weak to take what you want...you don't deserve it. Piece of shit as he is, he defends his family and allies with the fury of a raging storm...and is especially critical of anyone eyeing his younger sister Hisako, widely regarded as the most beautiful woman in all of the higher AND lower clans. Make no mistake, when Sho is around, death isn't far behind.

    Ethnicity: African American

    Say hello to the baddest man on the planet.
    Gerard Yaz has made a name for himself in the underworld of Empire City by being the most ruthless, cutthroat and brutal fighter on the streets. Orphaned as a child, his early life was spent as a mere urchin in The Hallows, Empire City's crime ridden hellscape. As a child, he would hustle and steal for food, until one day he stole from the wrong person...Taka Shinoda, the most powerful Yakuza boss on the East coast. The penalty for stealing from him was death, but the then 7 year old Gerard defiantly resisted his fate. Taka admired the young boy's tenacity and decided killing him would be a waste. No, he would put Gerard to work for him as a "runner" for his opium trade. Taka often used children as his corriors, as law enforcement would never look to check homeless children. Gerard would quickly prove his usefulness not only as a runner, but a companion for his young son, Sho. Seeing the bond the boys where developing, Taka decided to take Gerard in as an adopted son, and teach him the ways of the Shinoda clan.
    Gerard would undergo vigorous training and emerge to become not just a capable fighter, but the Shinoda clan's BEST fighter. By 18, Gerard has fought, competed and become a champion in the underground fighting rings of the country. By 21, he assumed his place by Sho's side as one of the clan's top warriors. Now 30 and with years of combat and bloodshed under his name, something strange as begun to happen. A voice has begun to echo in his head asking a single question over and over; "What is the Magnum Opus?"
    Gerard Yaz is a character that's buzzed about in my head for the better part of 15 years. He's had many names and many incarnations...but the story I've concocted for him has remained the same. Obviously I can't go into detail about him without giving away the story of Magnum Opus, but what I can say is that he's a heroic anti-hero. Make no bones about it, Yaz is not what you'd call a just man. He's cunning, ruthless and petty to a fault. But he's also honorable, loyal and stands on his convictions. And all of his traits will be put on display within the story. He also happens to be a one man army. I'll put it this way, if I were to gauge the scale of fighting ability of Gerard to say...John Herrig and Lori Stiel...he'd mop the floor with them both...simultaneously. He's a walking engine of destruction capable of unspeakable acts of violence. And violence is his trade. As the story plays out and you learn of his motivations and the question now burned into his mind, his destiny will ultimately be revealed. And there will be broken bones and piles of bodies laid behind him when it is.
    A special shoutout goes to @HDiddy for whipping up the outfit Gerard wears for me. I've still got more characters to make for this project, bold ideas indeed. I hope to have the 1st entry of the story by December if all goes according to plan.

    The Love We Live
    So...last night I went through my image folders to do a review of all of the comics I've done. The ones I've released, the ones I've scrapped and all point between. This naturally brought me to the my 1st venture into comic making...Empire City Stories: Betrayal, which as of volume 10 will be renamed "The Love We Live". Well, going over ECS:B volumes 1-3 I came to the conclusion that well...THEY FUCKING SUCK. Chock full of typos and way too short. I admit, I rushed and was sloppy when I made them. So I've made an executive decision that I'm going to go back in time and redo the 1st 3 chapters of Henry & Bianca's story. The basic concept of story will still be the same, but I'm going to expand it all into 1 entry instead of 3, effectively titling it "TLWL: Volume 0". Now of course this will require me to recreate the retro looks of the main characters as so they "flow" into ECS:B vol. 4 and above, but that's not really much of a problem.
    The reason I'm doing this because there's just too many inconsistencies with where I started with the story until now. Plus, I want to put more emphasis in establishing just exactly how Henry found out about Christine and Luke's betrayal. I also want to establish a few details with Henry, Bianca, Rory and Jaeleen I didn't do so the 1st time around because the original volumes were so damned short. So yea, I'm retelling the tale of how Hank & Bianca met...and how Rory & Jaeleen reunited, and everything from ECS:B Vol.4 and above will remain canon. As such, I've removed ECS:B volumes 1 - 3 from the forum...cuz they're obsolete as of the conception of this retcon of sorts.

    So I'm sitting here at work bored out of my skull...and had a thought for a fun lil' blog post. @Rob_Rebel89 and @Trapp have mention in comments in my comics before who they "imagine" my many characters sound like if they actually had voice overs. So I figure "hey, why not make a blog post about what I hear when I have my characters speak?" So that's just what I'm gonna do. I'll be going through all of the major characters who have appeared in each of my stories, and linking to the google search of each person, so you can see what they look like. This should be fun...

    Technically this series is only 4 issues in, which includes the "On The Inside" and "Vicki's fuckin' Weeyrdos" shorts. Still a few more characters to introduce. As for my 4th planned series Magnum Opus, I'm still creating it's cast so I don't really have VO ideas to most of them, just character concepts. But yea, these are the voices that buzz around my head when I give them dialog. Some are pretty obvious, as the character actually looks like or was inspired by the personality I view them voiced by (Such as Zenaida, Herrig, Valentino, Susan Weaving and Mary McCann), whereas for the others it's more like the character "fits" a role they'd play. But yea, that's all I got. Back to work now. ✌️

    Bubblee & Victoria
    Name: Vozanath
    Age: Unknown (Believed to be over 40k years old by the oldest scriptures)
    Height: Unquantifiable
    Weight: Unquantifiable
    Nationality: Unknown (Has existed since before known civilization)
    Ethnicity: Unknown
    Relatives: Unknown
    Occupation: Priestess of Chaos Magi
    Character Type: Chaotic Evil
    Musical Representation:

    Vozanath...the Chaos Witch. Said to be over 40 thousand years old, she is the living embodiment of chaos. While her origins have been lost to time, within the archives of the Penumbras it is believed she was once one of the last Penumbra witches before humankind lost their connection to the Earth's Mana. She has been called many names throughout human history, across man civilizations and religions, both feared and worshipped alike. Vozanath possesses the strongest connection to power translated to most languages as "Chaos Magic", a form of mana that can tear galaxies from existence, evident by Vozanath ripping an entire galaxy from the universe and turning it into her own pocket universe known as "The Under". For thousands of years, she has sat and watched the universe and all paraverses age and evolve, but recently...the emergence of a new Penumbra Witch, a young woman by the name of Victoria Crowne on the world known as "Earth" has piqued her curiosity...
    I can't go into full detail about this character, because it would spoil a lot about what I plan for her. But what I can say is within my universe of characters...she's a big deal. More of her origin and motives will be revealed as I go along, but her purpose is the primary foil of Vikki within the planned series "Bubblee & Victoria" I'm working on. What I can also tell you, is that she's a manipulative, cunning, self absorbed masochist who revels in the suffering of all. Because it's through that suffering she draws her power and connection to Chaos Mana. I'll have to make a separate blog sometime to explain how the concept of mana and magic exists in my universe. It's all part of a long term vision I have...I've got some CRAZY ideas planned for the future. What ideas? You'll have to keep up with my content to find out. 😆

    Stiel Maiden
    Name: Lorelai Sihu Stiel
    Age: 32
    Height: 5'8"
    Weight: 155lbs.
    Nationality: American
    Ethnicity: Native American (Hopi)/Unknown
    Relatives: Unknown Mother, John Stiel (Father/Deceased), Etka Stiel (Paternal Grandmother)
    Occupation: Former Captain in the United States Marine Corps/Auditor of Clandestine Intervention, Combat & Logistics Operations (C.I.C.L.ops)
    Character Type: Bold/Heroic/Fearless/Disciplined/Tomboyish
    Musical Representation:
    The origin of how I came up with the character Lori Stiel stems from many different places. When I decided to embark on telling an action story, I immediately knew I wanted the main character to be a female. Why? Cuz it's so rare. Usually in the story types involving espionage, military and drama, the hero is your garden variety white guy. So when I brainstormed who my main character was, I settled on a Native American female lead for a number of reasons...the most notable are 1, how many stories in ANY medium have you seen with a Native American as the main character? 2, the idea of telling a story from the perspective of a female special operations agent (of which there are none in real life) is a fresh perspective to dive into.
    So "where" did Lori's inspiration come from? Well, truth be told she's inspired from a design standpoint from 2 females, one real...one virtual; fitness influencer Lori Slayer (Also where I derived her name) and video game character Panam Palmer of Cyberpunk 2077. I envisioned her to be an extremely fit woman. One would have to be in order to survive the rigors of being a tier 1 operator. Thankfully, @HDiddy's XBody allows for very intricate body morphing. Her morphs are a combination of @Sammrchssn's Muscle Woman and @Birol's Fitness body mods, with a bit of @pervokpetr's Female Body 2 so she can fit most clothing without significant clipping. In terms of her actual personality, well...it's basically "me"...if I were a woman. Many if not all of Lori's character nuances, mannerism and reactions are pretty much how I'd react if put in the scenarios he's put in. Makes write her dialog pretty damned easy. Rather than make her the typical "Mary Sue" hero who's protected by walls of plot armor, I prefer to portray her as being strong willed, but vulnerable. A woman conflicted by her duty and her need to BE a woman...which don't always align. In fact, it NEVER aligns. Lori and John Herrig are essentially 2 sides of the same coin, which is why (as of Vol.8) she takes such ownance into bringing him down...because she understands under different circumstances she could easily been him. Internally, she blames herself for not "stopping" him, even though she had no idea what was going on in his head. That's one of the biggest character traits (or flaws) I want to showcase with the character...her need to be the fixer. But in all her efforts to try and fix the world and lives of those around her, she's never stopped to do so for her own. (That's of course where James comes in.) While not a tormented, tortured soul...she's not emotionally calibrated completely. The wear and tear of over a decade as a warfighter has taken its toll on her.
    Now, as far as what the future holds for our heroine, well...that's still to be determined. In the next few volumes, there will be many revelations that will forever alter her life going forward. A couple of them good, a couple of them bad...but all of them will drastically alter the trajectory of Lori's life within this story...and beyond. Up to this point in the story, I've shown her to be a strong fighter, a giving friend and a passionate lover. But I plan on delving deeper into what truly makes her tick. Her aspirations, motivations and of course her fears. All while trying to overthrow a plot by a terrorist corporation to overthrow the world's governments. There's a LOT left to be told in the story of Lori, and I'm looking forward to showly peeling back all of the layers as she navigates conflict, loyalty and romance.

    Stiel Maiden
    The next 3 volumes of the story will be a departure from what I've done so far. As mentioned in a previous blog, volumes 10-13 will be different in that rather than push the story forward...it rewinds the story back 33 years. There are 4 featured characters within the "Revelations" arch; A 27 year old Susan Weaving, a 35 year old Malcolm McCall, a 30 year old Arthur Jericho and a 40 year old Franklin Reese. It will also introduce a character mentioned by Jericho in the panels of Stiel Maiden Vol. 6 by the name of "John Arrow". Who he is...I can't reveal as it's not only a surprise...but THE single most important story development (and plot twist) of the series thus far. But don't worry, his reveal is within the very 1st panels of Vol. 10...and figuring out who {and more importantly "what") he is a no brainer from that point on. If you've read Vol. 10, notably the final few pages, the Revelations arch ties directly into that as well. Essentially, we're going backwards to go forwards...because from Vol. 14 onwards the defecation hits the oscillation and it's full steam to the end of the 1st chapter of Stiel Maiden (Which will be volume 20). Now be mindful, vol. 20 is the end of the 1st CHAPTER...not the end of the story. It's always been my plan to make Stiel Maiden a long form, episodic story. There will be an eventual end, but not any time soon. Overall, there will be 5 episodes, consisting of 20 volumes each, so yea...there's a LOT more story to go.
    I'm currently putting the final touches on taking pics for volume 13, then I go immediately into editing and production. I've got about 5 volumes of TLWL, 2 volumes of Bubblee & Victoria, the 1st volume of Magnum Opus and a couple ECS Shorts in the lab as well, so if you're a fan of my content...you're DEFINITELY going to be entertained in the coming months. So yea...the Revelation arch is next on the docket. I can't wait to see what everyone's reaction to the ACTUAL revelation will be. 😁

    Magnum Opus
    Announcing my next comic project. An idea that's existed in my head for the last 15 years. An ambitious project that goes a different path then the current works I have going on. While "The Love We Live" serves as a slice-of-life romance story, Bubblee & Victoria serves as a raunchy supernatural comedy and Stiel Maiden serves as a military/espionage thriller...Magnum Opus falls into my 1st true love...martial arts. But the story of Magnum Opus will be unlike anything you've seen.
    The story follows a man by the name of Gerard Yaz, who from the moment the story begins finds himself plunged into a world of violence and chaos as he seeks to learn the one question he finds burned into his mind; "What is the Magnum Opus?" This story will be bloody. This story will be violent. This story will be a departure from what I've done thus far. Yes, there's violence in Stiel Maiden, but not to the type of violence that will be depicted in Magnum Opus. This is a story that's taken up real estate in my head for a very long time. It's taken on a few different names...but I came to the title Magnum Opus not just because of it's plot, but because I feel like this will be the pinnacle of my story telling, because I'll be telling a story that involves zero sex. Yes, this isn't going to be an erotic tale. This is going to be a story of violence and vengeance.
    Now how frequently each chapter will come out I'm not sure of. As this is going to be a linear story with a definitive beginning and end, there's not as much need to prioritize regular releases. But the 1st chapter will be dropping in the coming weeks. I'm excited for everyone to see the story I've concocted for this one, cuz it's a complete mindfuck from start to finish. Since there's no sex in it, I'm already prepared for the fact that it won't get as many eyes on it as my other work, but this one is a passion project for me. Like I said, I've had this one in my head for 15 years now. Just never had the time of resources to actually make it a reality...until now. So I hope those of you who do read it enjoy it.

    Stiel Maiden
    So, Stiel Maiden vol's 8 and 9 are pretty much done, I just have to actually do the post work and editing for both. Stiel Maiden 10 I just started working on yesterday...and I want to explain what the goal of the 10th volume will be.
    Vol's 8 & 9 are setting up what's going to be the 1st major battle in the story. I've dropped bits and pieces here in there in previous volumes, but 8 & 9 specifically will be setting the stage for the 1st ACTUAL fight between Alpha Industries and CICLops. And I've got some ambitious plans to pull that off. Vol 9 in fact is sort of my litmus test on how to depict large scale battles within the limits of TK17. Gleaning what I figured out I could do and how to do it, the 1st offensive between the good guys and bad guys is going to be a grand, bloody and brilliant affair. But that's for volumes down the road.
    Vol 10 is going to be a departure from the main story...to an extent. How? Because volume 10...and likely vols 11-13 all take place 34 to 31 years in the past. Yep. Before Lori was born. Before Herrig was born. Before Sully was born. Before a LOT of the characters in the main story was born. Vol's 10-13 will in fact be the origin of CICLops, with time skips of 1 year between each volume, and will involve 3 existing characters in different roles than they've been seen thus far. Those characters are Dr. Susan Weaving, Major Arthur "Alpha" Jericho...and General Franklin "Grizzly" Reese...34 years younger. This puts Arthur at age 30, Susan at age 28 and Frank at age 35 in Vol 10.
    I'll also be introducing a new character. One who will be an integral part in not just vol's 10-13...but the overarching story as a whole. Who is this character? That's a spoiler. But they're introduced in the the 1st few panels of Vol 10, so the wait won't be long. I'm excited for what's in store going forward. I've spent so much time setting the stage and establishing characters. Now comes the part in the story the actual COMBAT starts. I've got lots of twists and turns in store. It's gonna get real good, real fast.

    Stiel Maiden
    Name: James "Sully" Sullivan Jr.
    Age: 30
    Height: 4'6"
    Weight: 117lbs..
    Nationality: American
    Ethnicity: Irish ancestry
    Relatives: James Sullivan Sr. (Father/Deceased), Margaret Sullivan (Mother)
    Occupation: Delivery driver/Part-time boxing instructor
    Character Type: Sarcastic/Cynical/Humorous/Loveable/Troubled
    Musical Representation:

    When deciding the initial cast of Stiel Maiden, I wanted Lori's love interest to be unconventional. Sure, I could have hooked her up with a dashing, good looking piece of a man candy...but that would have been too easy. No, I wanted her love interest to be a flawed, troubled fella with lots of potential, but always behind the 8-ball reaching it. Enter James Sullivan Jr, aka "Sully". Now, I've had this character sitting in the rafters for a while now. I actually made him towards the tale end of MG's existence. Of course he was a bit bigger back then...lol. What possessed me to make a little person? A couple of things really. The contrast of Lori being this larger than life powerhouse of a woman...giving her heart to a guy she's 2 times the size of seemed like a unique plot choice.
    Now before I go on, I have to explain the initial debuts of Lori and Sully in ECS: Betrayal. I had already plotted out the 1st 2 volumes of Stiel Maiden at that point, and wanted to kind of connect both stories in a way. Six degrees of separation and all that. The scene in the yoga studio with the 2 of them arguing like a married couple was completely ad-libbed. I wanted to make it so that there relationship starts with animosity initially, and quickly evolves into full blown love as both Lori and Sully realize they're exactly what eachother need in a partner...ESPECIALLY with what's to come in the story. As for Sully's backstory, as in hinted at by him...he's the son of a deceased pro boxer. His father, James Sr...was a promising middleweight who was raising up in the ranks fast, but found himself involved with the wrong people. I won't go into detail, because that's to be revealed in the story. James was only 4 when his father passed, and he was raised by his mother Margie to the best of her ability, seeing as it wasn't until he was 5 that they learned of his dwarfism.
    Growing up, he idolized his deceased father, and took up a vested interest in boxing himself. As it turns out he's actually quite good at it despite his size. So good that he trains fighters part-time, when he's not working his job as a delivery driver with best friend Chester A. Arthur. Sully is the classic underdog character, but we see him on an upswing of luck over the course of the story. And of course as of the last volume, he's now involved in the "secret life" Lori lives...so now we'll progress into how he handles it. Now where did the inspiration of Sully come from? Honestly...nowhere in particular. He's not based on anyone, if anything...I'd say his personality is pretty much based on my own. As far as his appearance, the goal was to make him look conventionally unattractive, but still like a "cute, angry dwarf". There's still a lot more about Sully to be revealed, and he's going to play a VERY important role in the story in later volumes.

    Name: Johnathan Paul Herrig
    Age: 34
    Height: 6'7"
    Weight: 255lbs.
    Nationality: American
    Ethnicity: German, Belgian and Danish ancestry
    Relatives: Unknown father, Gail Herrig (Mother/Deceased), Lucille "Lucy" Herrig (Sister)
    Occupation: Former Captain in the United States Marine Corps/Former Auditor of Clandestine Intervention, Combat & Logistics Operations (C.I.C.L.ops)
    Character Type: Brooding/Methodical/Sociopathic/Calculating/Violent
    Musical Representation:

    ~~~~
    John Herrig is a man steeped in mystery, fear and violence.  He's a character I created for one singular purpose...being the ultimate engine of human destruction. When I was coming up with the concepts of the Stiel Maiden story, I didn't just want the main antagonist to be just your garden variety bad guy. I wanted them to be the definition of the word "monster"...character that's very presence evokes dread in the hearts and minds of everyone. While he's not the root of evil, he is it's sword...and takes no quarter in spilling blood for what he believes is the right cause. He's a man who has spent his entire adult life, from the age of 18 in service of his country. As a Marine, he excelled in all areas of combat leagues about his peers. As result, he was skyrocketed up the ranks from Infantry, to Force Recon and finally the Marine Raiders...the elite special operations division of the USMC. But as he rose up the ranks and gained experience, he came to see the world wasn't black and white anymore...it was one single shade of gray, and where you fell within that shade merely depended on which side of it had the resources to you where they wanted. Towards the tail end of his military career, this spurned John to the point where he viewed the world's most powerful people as the root cause of the world's strife...which included the very government he served under.
    To Herrig, his current motives are justified. He's not inherently "evil" in the sense that he wishes to dominate or control. No, Herrig's purpose is the opposite, to create a world were the people have control of their own destinies, not the corporations. If you've played Cyberpunk 2077...think of him like Jonny Silverhand, expect he's not a rebel rockstar, he's a highly trained war machine. As far as John's combat prowess, he's second only to Lori. In fact, he's actually better than Lori. The core difference between the 2 is that Lori tries to avoid unnecessary conflict to complete her mission, as seen in Vol. 1. If it were Herrig conducting "Operation Warmonger" he would have leveled the entire complex, and the El sisters would have shared the same fate as the Sheik. This is the reason he's earned the nicknames "The Beast" and "Reaper". When Herrig is involved, death awaits. As the story continues, I plan on introducing more instances where we get a glimpse into the mind of John. How he justifies the atrocities he's committed...and will commit (In the next volume to come after this blog, Volume 7...he does something REALLY fucked up. Even more than his broad daylight assassination).
    The character is inspired by 2 other "Johns"; Jonny Silverhand as played by Keanu Reeves from Cyberpunk 2077, and John Bernthal's portray of both Frank Castle/The Punisher and John Walker from Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. A character who sees the world as broken, and ruled by cruel overlords who only sees it's citizens as pawns. Driven by his own moral code, he's decided that they are the ultimate enemy, and as he's been trained...the enemy of the people must be destroyed. His intention is noble, but his methods are barbaric and destructive. And in that, he's the most feared man walking the face of my fictional Earth. Well...the most feared "mortal" man anyway.
    Just a small update announcing that I've got a lot coming down the pipe in terms of content. The next volume of ECS: Betrayal is on deck, and it promises to be pretty pleasing if I must say. It's actually gonna be kind of a "double issue", as I had actually grabbed pics for Vol. 11, but decided I'd just cram it all into Vol. 10. Expect the introduction of 2 new characters, 2 RAUNCHY sex scenes, and a lot of character development. After that, we've got Stiel Maiden 7 & 8 to be done. I've also got smaller projects I've begun in Warriors Of Fate and Victoria Crowne: The Witch Bitch, as well as one-off stories I'll make as they pop into my head. Lots of good, sexy, funny stuff comin' from the Comic Shop in the next coming months...so KEEP IT LOCKED for future updates.
    Thought & Shit
    Well, it's high time I spill the beans. My production has been lagging, I know this. The last comic I made "Warriors Of Fate" I made in a day merely out of boredom. I've got a lot of time on my hands these days...namely because I'm on temporary disability from my work. Ya' boy Oz isn't doing well these days. I've been diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, Chronic Bronchitis, Hypertensive Heart Disease, Hypokalemia, Vitamin D Deficiency, Acute Kidney Disease, Heart Failure with reduced ejection fraction. Yea...pretty fucked up indeed. For the next 2 months I'm spending most of my days medicating, resting and contemplating the 40+ years of bad decisions I've made that nearly landed me in a casket last month. My health has been failing for a while now, I'd say the last 2 years. But being the Marine I am I said "fuckit, I can push through".
    That was a lie. I can't.
    Sooooooo...here I am in the worst shape I've been in my life, with an enlarged heart that struggles to pump blood and could explode whenever the fuck it wants to. I never thought I'd be here, but again...here I am. So what does that mean for more content? Well, I don't know what it means. I've got ideas flowing in my brain, and I'll have time...but sitting in front of laptop for hours on end isn't exactly conducive to my condition. I have the pics for the next 2 chapters of Stiel Maiden and a few shorter stories already done, I just need to make the panels. After that, not really sure when I'll get to work on new stuff...as that all depends on how long it takes for me to get any of my strength back.
    I don't wanna ramble on so I'll wrap this up. My productions and presence on the forum will dip from my normal. Some folk have already noticed this, I'm making it known the reason why. I AM NOT WALKING AWAY OR STEPPING DOWN. I'm just slowing down...like with everything. I've lived a fast paced rollercoaster of a life in my going on 43 years on this world, and it's quite literally killing me. So I need to pump the breaks and make changes IRL. So yea, that's why you haven't seen a lot of content from me lately, and why that trend is probably gonna continue through most of 2023. I'll work on what I can, when I can...but not at the pace I was doing in 2022. Not yet anyway.
    Stiel Maiden
    After 3 months of procrastination and story revision...I'm happy to say I'm back on track and volumes 5-8 are being worked on. While I wanted the next couple chapters to be grandiose and action packed, I realized that the unfortunate limitations of the software is going to require me to dial back a few of my original ideas. That doesn't mean there won't be big time fights and raunchy encounters...it just means I have to scale them down. Vol. 5 will be completed and uploaded by the end of the weekend, and the next 3 will be rolled out accordingly. After I release Vol. 8, Stiel Maiden will go on a "break" as I get back to getting caught up with ECS: Betrayal. So for those who've been following the story, more is on it's way...FAST. Thanks for all the support and encouragement.
  24. Oz70NYC
    Right about now I'd be releasing the 5th installment of the Stiel Maiden comic, which would have been chock full of action, emotional moments and violence. This was the volume where I had intended to let Herrig off his leash and showcase why his callsign is "Beast".
    But then real life happened. That being the mass murder in Buffalo, NY...just 2 hours from where I live here in The Bronx.
    Herrig's 1st assault was going to be akin to the infamous mission in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 called "No Russian", where innocent civilians were gunned down in an act of war. 75% of Vol. 5 would revolve around Herrig's act of barbarism, and the world's reaction to it. But in light of recent events I feel it's in extremely poor taste to release Vol. 5 as planned, so I've made the decision to scrap the original idea, and make it a difference scenario. Obviously, that means all of the content I'd prepared is unusable...so Vol. 5's release is being pushed back as I put together an alternate idea.
    Empire City Stories
    nullAfter a long hiatus, Empire City Stories is back with volume 8, and this one introduces bunch of new characters to the story on top of the 1st major milestone. Without spoiling anything...a LOT is changing following this volume. I'll be on a much more manageable schedule, so I'll be able to work on both of my comics a little more frequently. In any case, enjoy the read...there's more to come, and soon.
